We have never been to the Donald's character breakfast. On our upcoming trip we are staying at the AKL. With us being so close I thought we might go. I do have character breakfasts at Chef Mickey's and Ohana's. Is it worth going there for this one? Or since we are so close and never tried we may as well?

Thanks. :sunny:

DS was 6 when we went there and he had a blast. Interaction with the characters was good. Haven't done Chef Mickey's or Ohana yet so I really have nothing to compare it with. But we do plan on doing one of those on our December trip

We loved Donalds for Breakfast- we had great character interaction and the food was surprisingly good!
Go for it

I loved it the first time we did it. The second time I didn't think the food was as good but the Characters are great.

We just did it in December and had a great time. Food was good and character interaction was great!

:confused3 Hi ... we have done it twice. The second time in December - the characters were good but the food was just okay. My family did not really like most of the food - I think that it was not as fresh - not sure why - maybe coz we had a later seating??? Hope you enjoy it :goodvibes

I thought the character interaction was good, but the food is not great. Standard mediocre buffet fare - not at all on the par of Boma or even Chef Mickey's - but if you're in AK and want table service that's gonna be the place to be. Tusker house has CS breakfast too - didn't eat there last time but we will this trip - it looked really good.

Donald's is one of my family's favorite character breakfasts. We have always had a very good breakfast here. The food is good - and they do have a create your own omelet station.

Character interaction is good, and the servers also get into the act.

Last November we went for the first time for all of us (4 adults and 2 kids)and we loved it so much we are going back this year!!!

We just did Donald's last week and were very under whelmed. We had an 8 am ADR and got there 10 minutes early to check in. We were led into the Quonset hut section with a group of families all at once. We were shown our tables and I mean "shown," not seated. The drill sergeant, er I mean "hostess" told us to hit the buffet tables immediately. I went to get my food, as well as my son's while he waited with DW. (Works best for us) While in line here come DS and DW. She said that the hostess ran her out, politely but in no uncertain terms telling her she had to get up and get her food with the group or she would fall behind the next platoon, er I mean group. We were done and out by 8:25. So we sat on a bench till 9 since the park was off limits until then.

The food was ok, typical buffet fare, the character interaction was good, and the setting was ok, but the service was very regimented and rushed. I felt very much like we were just part of a system or an assembly line, much more so than any other character meal we've done. It's at the bottom of the character meal list for us. If you must meet Donald, eat at Rainforest Cafe's first seating and see Donald at Camp Minnie-Mickey.

Much better character breakfasts (as always, in my opinion only :rolleyes1 ) include Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and we really loved Ohana.

We have been to Donalds four years in a row, and always enjoy it. The food is standard breakfast buffet stuff, and is no better or no worse than any other Disney buffet, including Chef Mickeys. But who goes to a character breakfast for food!!!? A buffet is a buffet--you can get scambled eggs anywhere.

We have always had GREAT service--funny and attentive servers, and love the character interaction.

I think that some people get turned off because the theming is not quite as fancy as some of the other restaurants, but we think its the best character breakfast of them all! (I would recommend an early seating over a late one though.)

We loved the character interaction at Donald's, which we went to because I love Donald. The food was OK, the stand out star was the breakfast pizza. It was quite yummy!! Having not been to any other character breakfasts (aside from the Princesses) I really can't compare but Donald gave me lots of love so I was happy!! :thumbsup2
