I certainly am aware of the devastation that a hurricane the size and scope of Frances can bring. But to all those who planned their vacations and will be/were planning to be in the happiest place I know of this weekend.... my thoughts are with you
I know what it is like to plan a special vacation to WDW and wait and anticipate that trip. We were in WDW when Charley hit, and the week the hurricane hit we were at CSR and I purposely stopped watching and stressing over the weather reports while we were there. I knew it would be what it would be. The weather prior to the storm was very nice BTW.
The night Charley hit, we were all camped out in our rooms and I thought that Disney and CSR did a wonderful job trying to maintain a calm feeling for their guests. The hurricane passed and WDW faired pretty well. We were back at the parks the next morning.
While I was concerned with the residents of Florida and the losses they experienced, I do have to admit that I was also a little concerned about the rest of my vacation. The vacation I had worked so hard to plan and save for, as we still had another 5 days left to our vacation.
My prayers are with all the residents of Florida and hope everyone is safe throughout this. I guess I just want to say, don't feel guilty because your vacation plans have been ruined, it is only natural to feel that way. We all work hard to go to WDW and look forward to it.
So those who are there, be safe... those who had to cancel, pray that WDW doesn't suffer too badly and I hope you can reschedule soon.
