I was wondering how many of you who go to WDW often or every year with kids still get autographs and pictures with the characters. We have gone every year since '97.3yo DD has gone 3 times, and we've done alot of character meals, and have gotten autographs. I don't know but I'm kinda feeling like been there done that! Am I being selfish to not want anymore autographs? How many pictures can you have with the same characters?LOL We will be there this Sept. for 10 days and we are going next year, for 10 or 14 days(not sure yet)so should I just skip that sort of stuff this time or will I be a bad mommy?

We've been going since DS was 10. At 18 (19 next month) I love the pics of him and Donald. When I recently made a collage of pictures of him with Donald and placed the 10 year old pic next to the 18 year old pic (where he now TOWERS over Donald) it was soo cute!!

When we begin taking my DGS when he turns two will always take a picture of him either with the troll in Norway, the Indian at MK or the statue of Walt in the Mk so that we can have the same type of "history" of his growth.

My kids still love getting the Autograph even after 8 straight years of going every year.........

I'm curious to those answering they still get autographs-How old are your children? My son after three trips still loves the autographs. He will be 9 on our next trip and I'm wondering if he will have outgrown it. (I hope not!!)
To answer your question, I think you should still get autographs if your child wants to-They're only young once and the characters are such a big part of the Disney experience!!

Our DD is 4 and this will be her 3rd trip in just over a year. She's already talking about getting autographs. I scrapbook all of our pictures so the battle for me is to come up with new layouts for basically the same pics. It is great to look at old albums and see how they change so much in just a few months. Have fun.

We have been to the World about every other year now for a while. Starting back when my oldest was 5. At 15 now she felt she was too old for autographs.

BUT, on our trip in Feb. she celebrated her 15th b-day, so we gave her a tee-shirt decorated with b-day stuff. She was soo!! excited to see how many autographs she could get on the tee. It was nice to see her act young again.

Our 12yo DD will ALWAYS get autographs! She is as much of a disney freak as I am!

My younger ones ( 10 -3) still enjoy getting autographs. They like to compare the books at home. We have autographs where goofey actually drew a pic of himself with his name! It really is interesting to see the changes.

We've made many trips to WDW and STILL get autographs! Our children (10, 7 and 2) love to pose with the characters.

When I put the photos in my scrapbook albums, I sometimes cut out the signature of the character and do a page layout with the picture and signature.

we are planning our 3rd trip, my kids are 5&7. we have used the autograph books for the last two trips and got so great ideas from this board. Try something different, a baseball(or any kind of hat), a tee shirt, have the characters sign them. I did hear that the characters will not sign anything that you are wearing so hold them and they will gladly sign. Have fun!!

We don't do the autograph thing...never have. I have 19DD, 12DS , 2 DD but the pics are too cute to pass up!
Sorry I know you want support here so you don't have to do it but......We get pics of our family all together with the characters and it is so fun to see how the kids have changed....We love it...The kids have never expressed an interest in the autographs so I would just leave it up to them....
Oh, there is a site somewhere...maybe someone knows that lists ALL of the characters and where they are!
maybe you could just see the ones the kids really like...
We don't take pics with all of the characters just who we really like!

Ditto! We have to do the autographs every time. We are doing the t-shirt this year. We try to come up with some new way to get the autographs. Also, they change and grow up so fast that our pictures change every time. It is fun to see the changes!

I paste my photos of my daughter right into the autograph book. I love see her grow up in the pics with the characters. Already I have three different ages in the book and she is only three.

My boys are 11 and 8, the older son will not have his picture taken with Mary Poppins but has no problem with the Little Mermaid. LOL He is more selective with whom he is pictured now. The 8 yr old will still have his pic done with anyone. The great thing after several trips a year for several years now, once we get lets say Mickeys autograph, they don't feel the need to see him everytime we run across a meey and greet. When they were younger we would have to wait for Mickey at every opportunity not anymore once is enough each trip!:D

My kids are now 9 & 10. They have stopped getting the autographs. They do still like getting pictures. Their favorites are Mickey & Minnie. Other than those two, they just walk past. The only ones I like to get pictures with is Chip & Dale!

DD is 10 now and as of last year she still loved getting pictures and autographs! DH is like you thinking maybe we should skip it, so we ask her and let her decide. I buy a new autograph book each time and then I put the picture of the person who autographed a page right next to it, so you can only do one autograph on one side. Then at the front I put her age and where we stayed. She has these in her room on a shelf and she loves to get them out and look at them! As for the character meal, she still loves to go and interact with them, especially those that she loves will agervate her like Tigger, Chip, Dale, etc. Hope this helps and have a great time!

We have been to DWD every year since 1998- DS is now five. Last year he was into characters and autographs- we stood in lots of lines for characters. We just got back May 16 and while we did take autograph book, DS wasn't nearly as interested as the year prior to get character autographs. We did do 2 character meals, though. I think it depends on the child.

I read about the t-shirt autographing on the boards and thought that would be a great idea for our 5 year old but when I mentioned it to her, she wants the book!!! Maybe next time.

We go yearly with our children (ages 3 & 6)... The 6 year old has been 7 times.... We don't really do autographs... we do pictures though, the kids still love it & I love seeing them! This year I'm going to buy the kids T Shirts & have the characters sign with a fabric pen... that should be a lot of fun for them!!

The magic of going to Disney with them never gets old, but I can tell you, there are some things we don't do much of any more! Autographs are one, and character meals are two... we have a couple favorites, but we rarely do the sit down restaurants anymore... The kids want to stay active, and I swear we have eaten at every Disney restaurant!
