does Santa also visit your house?

Do you go before Christmas as a gift, or is it not a gift at all?

IF you go prior to Christmas, what do you do for Christmsa? (gift-wise?)

We were planning to give our kids a Santa gift of park tix and M&D gift of plane tix....and going on 12/27. However, I know it's cheaper and less crowded to go earlier.

I've seen many going at Christmastime, but earlier in Dec. Just wondering if there's a let down to come home then and the gift is pretty much finished?

It seems silly to spend money on more toys and such when the memories of a trip will last longer. I just can't wrap my mind around how this could work and still not be a let down later. If we went before, we'd have to go 12/19-12/24 or 25. Then how does Santa still come? Sorry so long. I"m obsessing. Surely there's someone w/ideas for me?!:confused3

We've been twice at XMas with our kids.

You may want to check the dates this year but when we went if you checked in on or before Dec 19th you got a much lower rate for the entire stay. I'm talking about as much as $100 a day better rate. That can buy some extra gifts for the little ones to have waiting at home when you return or you could ship them ahead to the resort if you'll be there on XMas day. We did this once and it worked out great. Good luck

Love going in early Dec. Christmas week is tooooooooo crowded for me.

I've been to WDW during xmas and its so magical with all the decorations and other things, the only problem with xmas is the crowds but I still like the magic.

We always had the policy that Santa brought a few small gifts that he put in stockings, and anything large came from Mom and Dad. We always said that the important thing was that Santa came to visit, because he loves us. The little gifts were just to remember him, and the happy year.

That might work for you here. One trick we did was to get some really bright lipstick and have Santa leave a kiss. Then the important thing isn't the stuff, it's the love that Santa has for the kids. Then the trip can be Mom and Dad's special gift, and it also explains the economizing that needs to take place to make the trip happen, and makes them a part of making the trip happen.

I am giving my DH and mom a trip to the World this December 19-21, but I will probably give my mom a gift anyway. This trip will probably be part of my Anniversary/Christmas Gift to DH as well. We dont have kids, so we don't do much for Christmas anyway, so what better gift.

I would avoid the week of Christmas if at all possible. Extremely crowded. How old are your kids? This may help us all give you some ideas on what to do for Christmas if you go earlier.

My kids are 6 and 8, but will be closer to 7 and 9 in Dec. We are beginning to think that maybe we should wait one more year as then Santa might not be as much an issue. At what point does santa no longer play as a big a role in the holiday?? I'm thinking we only have 1-2 more years of that left. I don't know..?
