For those who file with Turbo Tax

I created a thread last week about discovering that a) TT is cheaper if you do it online vs. if you buy the CD b) there's even more of a discount if you are a Chase customer. Well I also saw that Bank of America customers get this discount as well. I found both discounts advertised on those banks/cc's websites.

Capital One customers get a discount too!

State Farm clients get a a discount (if you have a financial account you get it free)

Does anyone have a refund schedule yet? (you know the if your return is accepted this day, you will have your refund deposited this day...)

Wow! You guys are the best. Thanks so much for making me feel more comfortable taking the plunge!!

I was concerned as well. I filed using the online turbotax on Sunday but mine is still being processed. Should I be concerned about that? Many are saying there status changed quickly and they knew their refund date right away. I'm not sure if it's because I didn't use a professional this year? I'm skeptical given the time frame. Others who filed on Sunday are already getting their refunds Friday, but mine is still being processed... Not sure yet. :)

Super easy, I've used it for about 10 years now. There were about 4 years that I did home daycare and dh did side jobs and it was even easy to do the home business.

I didn't read through this whole thread, but we use Turbo Tax every year. We get the premiere one. Just FYI, you can fill out all the info and see your refund before you pay. So if you are NOT happy, you don't have to file with them. They check for errors and tell you what your "audit rate" would be. They go step by step through everything!!! Give it a try and see if you like it. If you don't, you won't be out any $$, just some time!!!

We were also thinking of using turbo tax this year as I don't think we will be getting a refund. We usually go to H&R block but they charge so much for what seems like very little work since our returns are fairly simple. So I was wondering how much Turbo Tax would cost?
Also we have to file a state return, can we do this on Turbo Tax too?

Thanks

You can do both Federal and State on Turbo Tax. The only watchout is some local county or municipalities may not be in the forms. I found this out when I moved to Ohio, because every other state I've lived in I didn't have this problem.

My dad is a CPA and does taxes since he retired using a profesional tax program and always says that TT is as good as what he does for most people. He also does taxes for H&R part time and said their program is basically the same thing.

Unless you have a really complicated tax situation, I'd suggest going with TT.

You can do it all with Turbo Tax. I am filing using the Deluxe version since we own a home and are itemizing some things. I think it will cost us around $60 to e-file both state and federal.
