I'm always surprised the time people waste worrying about what everyone else is doing. You might report a rude CM or a safety hazard but to go running to complain to Disney about what other guests are doing?

Aside from that, the title of the thread is deliberately inflammatory which is disappointing.

It would be different if what the guests were doing weren't directly affecting others. Offsite guests have a hard enough time obtaining same day FP. Dipping into that already very depleted pool out of sheer selfishness is unacceptable. Sorry if you disagree.

Not quite. I've never done it, and don't know how to do it because I still don't understand how it works.

It's the "nanna nanna boo boo I told on you" tone that is inflammatory.

I find it's ironic how much playing of the system goes on with Magic Bands and FP+. I remember all those who wanted FP- gone saying over and over how unfair the system is, because people take advantage of it. Did you really think people would not do the exact same with this system? I have seen more "cheat the system" threads here since FP+ came out than I did when it was FP-. Yep those threads that *are not allowed*. But I guess my point is no matter what system they come up with, people will figure out ways to get around it.

This system is far more susceptible to tampering. Way more complex and every customer is a system user who inputs much more data than just pushing a button and pulling a ticket.

There's always been talk that they could sell extra fastpasses and this might just give them some data that will lead to implementation of that in some form.

No, I don't think that's even close to plausible. There would have to be a huge number of people doing this to even get close to showing them any really useful information.

I think it's a little out there to think that Disney would want to deplete the already short supply of fp's by allowing others to get as many as they want. There are better ways to gauge the demand- the only talk I've ever heard about selling extra fp's is just idle chatter here on the Dis.

But that's the sort of excuse people give to justify it- Disney wouldn't let us do it if they didn't want us to. If we can, we should, seems to be the mind set these days.

I never said I disagreed and my original post didn't indicate that I had. I never participated in this activity and I consider it inflammatory. The threat of "enjoy it while you can" is clearly there. It's just rude and invites problems.

By all means contact Disney if you're that impassioned about what strangers are doing. I'm too busy enjoying my time in the Disney Parks to whinge about strangers.

I'm not saying that Disney is purposely allowing people to get extra fastpasses however they aren't stopping it either. I realize that their systems are wonky but I can't see Disney not finding a way to put a stop to it if it bothered them all that much. I'm just saying that even aberrations can provide useful data to a smart IT group.

As for allowing extra fastpasses for a fee, I don't mean as many as someone wants. It could come in many forms.

But you are probably right. Disney likely just feels that other issues take priority.

I really don't 'worry what others are doing'. I'm aware that millions of people every day, day in and day out, somehow cheat some system, somewhere.

I think what bothers me is that Disboards lets an exploitation thread go on and on while they shut down other 'cheating type' threads immediately. It's just odd.

I can see how this is an issue and cause for concern.

BUT, at the end of the day, disney is making money by the dummy reservation. Just like throwaway rooms, they're making money for 3 more fastpasses...which to them is free (free money).

If you are in the business to make money (bottom line) and you're making more money for free...not necessarily a bad thing, eh?

FP's are in short supply for headliners as it is.

Hopefully, this puts an end to the excuse of " they let us so they must want us to do this".

I don't even understand the extra MB thing so this isn't coming from a place of wanting it to continue. I'm just coming from a former CS standpoint.

I wouldn't expect this change to happen until other issues are fixed. We were recently able to start linking our main gate passes to MDE to get advance FP. Since we linked ours my pass hasn't worked a single time to get in the park. It does work for FP though, but if my pass had to be used for park entrance I wouldn't be able to use my FP either.

Did you link them last year? If so, and you used the same MDE account this year, it's my understanding that they will work just like your new bands and you can't use them to create extra FPs.

I know, right! It certainly doesn't look like any language I've ever seen from a Disney CS rep (or from any company).

The funniest thing about that whole post is the OP's assurance that his/her e-mail is going to bring down this whole house of cards. See, it's right there in this (fishy) response from a random CS rep in a back room somewhere! This thing that has been openly discussed for the better part of a year and probably "reported" to Disney 50 times is now all but over. The random, placating e-mail said so!

We better hope the OP doesn't notify Target that sometimes people get in the 10 items or less lane with 12 items. He/She'll blow the whole lid off that scam, too!
