For those who enjoy gaming FastPass+ with extra Magic Bands

Did you link them last year? If so, and you used the same MDE account this year, it's my understanding that they will work just like your new bands and you can't use them to create extra FPs.

Totally new account this time around. Had a bunch of problems with our old account(s), so we started over completely fresh this time around and unlinked all previous bands. Extra FPs was not the reason, but looks like it may be a nice side benefit.

I know, right! It certainly doesn't look like any language I've ever seen from a Disney CS rep (or from any company).

The funniest thing about that whole post is the OP's assurance that his/her e-mail is going to bring down this whole house of cards. See, it's right there in this (fishy) response from a random CS rep in a back room somewhere! This thing that has been openly discussed for the better part of a year and probably "reported" to Disney 50 times is now all but over. The random, placating e-mail said so!

We better hope the OP doesn't notify Target that sometimes people get in the 10 items or less lane with 12 items. He/She'll blow the whole lid off that scam, too!

MOM! MOM! Quick, come here and see what Phineus and Ferb are doing!

Whoah! Am I understanding this right? You can use unlinked bands to obtain extra fast passes? I have two sets from last year plus new ones for our late November trip coming up. Hopefully Disney will not be able to react that fast to the FP vigilantes on these boards.

Hey OP, it looks like the number of people your thread has stopped from doing this currently stands at minus one. :duck:

JMO, of course, but only a fool would think that Disney is unaware of the numerous loopholes and problems with the current system. And only the foolish would count on any of these loopholes being closed or problems solved in the near future. The entire MDE system is so glitch ridden that it will probably be years before it is running smoothly and reliably enough to then turn to fixing this particular issue. In other words, they have bigger things to worry about right now.

As for the "official response" posted by the OP, it seems quite "unDisney" to me, but I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

They didn't need your email to help make them aware of the issue. They are collecting the data on everything going on in the parks. It's like a George Orwell dream come true. But I hope it made you feel better.

Game on Wayne! Game on Garth!

Thank you OP.:worship:

Just because something is not specifically forbidden does not make it moral or ethical. The this is how we cheat the system threads have just been showing how many unethical people there are around.

Charging $100 a day for a 3 year old to enter an amusement park is unethical. Getting extra perks when a system allows it, is not.

I agree that doesn't read like a Disney-approved response and contains words/statements Disney CS would never allow.

I'm sure they were aware of the problem and if it is fixed, I just hope they don't go out of their way to announce the fix, hope it just rolls out and those that are trying to game the system are stuck standing there looking like fools...yeah, I know schadenfreude...somedays it does the soul good to see, like when a car speeds past 20 mils over the limit and you see them down the road pulled over getting a ticket...makes your day.

In fact, I recently emailed them to confirm if this actually worked or not, and here is the response that I got:

"Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort. Some of our guests will appreciate various opportunities that Magic Bands may present to them. We currently furnish our guests a set of Magic Bands with each and every Disney Resort reservation made. We feel these Magic Bands should provide ongoing benefits to our guests beyond their actual stay. As we go forward with rolling out the magic bands these types of benefits will be enhanced, and I expect for something to be put in place just as you say. Should you have additional questions, please contact us again by replying to this e-mail."

Considering Disney knows about this and hasn't fixed it yet, tells me either:

A. It's not an easy fix.
or
2. So few guests do this that it's not worth doing anything about while they're still rolling out the most basic functions of MDE and FP+.
or
iii. Both of the above.

I predict in 2 years people will still be exploiting this loophole.

*snork*

OP, I hope that it makes you feel better ratting out the evil same day fast-passers to Disney. That self-satisfied feeling will be all you'll get. Disney is well aware of the situation and they won't close the loophole until they are good and ready.

Thanks for posting this!

Just waiting for the bombardment of " lol!!! an errant, anonymous cm doesn't know what they're talking about blah, blah, blah. But
I'm sure you realize your post is not going to be met with a lot of pixie dust and hugs by others, so thanks for taking the hit and posting.

FP's are in short supply for headliners as it is.

Hopefully, this puts an end to the excuse of " they let us so they must want us to do this".

Hits don't bother me.

I also fully realize that Disney knew this was going on before I emailed them about. I had no illusions that I was revealing something new and exciting to them.

However, the more people that say something about it the more likely Disney is to eventually do something about it. If they think no one cares then they won't care either.

For those who've posted that don't like my tone, that's too bad. It was intentional. I don't like the tone of entitlement that many take on the boards.

For the mathematically challenged, this means that OP's thread has INCREASED the number of people doing this by one. Not the desired result, to be sure.

I can absolutely live with "that self-satisfied feeling" as my only reward.

If Disney wanted to stop it, they would. Period.

So they either don't care or they don't know how with the new MDE experience.

Ahh, so you were posting your letter just so you'd get pats on the back about what a good person you are for pointing out the evil of others. Got it. :thumbsup2

:lmao:

I don't think the individual people exploiting this loophole are wrong, but I do wish Disney would close it in the issue of fairness.

Yup, exactly. All the OP is doing is pointing MORE people towards the very thing they are trying to get shut down. :rotfl:

Good for you. I don't think that they will implement this yet, because the park entrance, Mickey Orbs don't work consistently. They haven't gotten step one sorted yet. They really are at baby steps. There hasn't been a trip yet that I wasn't waved through, with "blue Mickey," at least once.

Good point. They can't fix this loophole without fixing this first to a reasonable level.

I predict in 2 years people will still be exploiting this loophole.

It did take them awhile to fix the loophole where people would rent a disabled person to skip the lines...but they did fix it...bet this will get fixed one day too...maybe not in two years, but eventually.

My best guess would be the latter.

Nah, pats on the back for being a "good Person" don't excite me. Annoying the self-righteous on the other hand...
