For those who did the CP-dinner package how did you like the reserved area for F/W?

I really don't think this will be such a great advantage, but I would like to hear from those who did it in the past.

How far ahead of time do you go for a front row view for Illuminations in the reserved area?

I like the part of being closer to the exit after the show; so, I may do it. It just seems it's not such a hot view from there.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the location is near the gift shop by the water close to the beginning of World Showcase, right?

Actually, IllumiNations was designed to be viewed from about that same spot. It is an incredible viewing spot. It does get crowded, but because it is on a slight slope, it doesn't matter if you are up front or not.
I don't care for it a lot simply because it's a nightmare to get back to the International Gateway and over to BW if the park is closing after the fireworks. It's like a salmon swimming upstream!! Nasty.
But all in all, it's a pretty good spot to view. I have seen larger wedding groups booked in there during the regular times of year.

The view is really good. But last year can you believe we skipped it entirely after the cp because it was just so freezing cold, dh and I just couldnt take the cold anymore.

So if you see the last cp show, you will be in the back more for the viewing area.

I think this year we might try it depending on the weather or just go to the handicapped viewing area by canada anyway. I dont like that area too much due to the smoke and embers blowing back at you sometimes.

The one time we did use the cp viewing area, I honestly felt like we were being herded in like cattle and we had to kill alot of time. Thank heavens we had stopped off in Norway to get a snack to bring with us.

It was freezing cold last year, but it was our first time seeing CP and we wanted to try this viewing area. I think because it was so cold, there was plenty of room for everyone (we went on Christmas Eve, too!). The area is a direct view of the show and it is very good. There is a slope, so you don't have to be right in front to get a good view, although again there was lots of space around us because it was about 35 degrees or something crazy, so there weren't any heads directly in front of us. If the weather was warmer it may have been a bit more difficult to manage. (We actually spent time playing the video game at the end of Mission Space just to keep warm until it was time for Illuminations).

We also like to watch from a spot near leCelier, my husband has a special railing that he likes to stake out for the show, but in nice weather you have to be prepared to guard your spot with your life if you want a clear shot for videotaping :)

It was an incredible view! We went to the later CP on Christmas Day, and I was worried about getting to the viewing area on time. We walked briskly, and got there just as the viewing area was opening. The view was really nice, and Alison was able to sit up front with a bunch of other kids.

I cannot walk fast, and we usually have gone to the last show. However, because of the incline, we were able to have a great view of Illuminations.

This would help with planning, if anyone will chime in. TIA

Could someone explain where the area is exactly? Is it by the boat dock? Is it left or right of the gift shop?

It's in the area between the two gift shops in the area between Future World and World Showcase.
