If you're in the camp that believes calling MS in regards to your waitlist increases your odds of getting your waitlist, what do you ask/say?

I'm new to DVC and within a short time span, purchased a total of 3 contracts. I made reservations for this November at AKV and waitlisted for a SV. I've had good reason to call MS on two more occasions, checking on the points added to our account. While on the phone I'd ask, "are you still seeing a waitlist for a savannah view on our reservations?". They'd reply, "Yes, it's still there". I'm not sure how this could help anyone get their waitlist and I don't plan on calling just for that purpose. But I'm curious for anyone who feels calling has helped, what do you say?

I called to add the dining plan on another reservation and she said "I see you just got your waitlist". I was surprised but had read that on the dis that it has happened to others. I was happy.

I would call and specifically ask about the waitlist. There are abundant reasons for doing so -- waitlist info gets entered incorrectly and is not noticed until it comes through and messes up your vacation, waitlists don't get entered at all, etc.

There have just been too many anectdotal reports of waitlists magically coming through for it to be entirely random. There is some pixie dust in there somewhere!

I call regularly, but I am chekcing on other options that I can not waitlist for and for part of the waitlist since I am willing to piece it together.

This!

I could not wait list all of my options, for instance I could only wait list for one view. I had a lake view at BLT for Thanksgiving night and wanted it for the following night but I would call to see if other views became available. The wait list came through though- without me calling. I had been calling frequently but then went on vacation and came back and my night was there!

I was calling to make another reservation, and asked about the waitlist. She said it's there and hasn't been confirmed yet, and asked if I would like her to check if any of the days were available. They weren't. I asked her to check other resorts (since I can't waitlist them all). There were only 2 nights out of eight available at any resort in WDW. This is for mid-December, which apparently is a very popular time for DVCers, and I made the reservation late anyway. So I've pretty much given up on the waitlist.

Don't give up on the waitlist. In the past month, I have moved my F & W November reservation 3 studios at SS to 1 studio and 1BD at BW! I would waitlist every day with a backup room just in case and all my waitlists came through!

Well it's not like I'm out of luck without my waitlist. I do have ressies at SSR, and I'm excited to be there. But the chance to be at BLT and walking distance to the MK... I'd take it in a heartbeat. So I waitlisted MK view and Lake view. I would also waitlist BCV and BWV, if only you could have more than two at a time. But I'm new to this, and not sure if there is a good strategy to get an 8-day trip on waitlist - seems impossible for all 8 days to come available at the same time. I'm not really interested in split stays. I move enough in my profession (different country every 2-3 years) I don't need to be moving while on vacation.
