How long did it take for you to hear back from Disney for ROFR? I know they have 30 days, but I was just wondering what everyone's wait time was? TIA!

I have purchased through resale three times. One made it through ROFR in only a week the others took 2-3 weeks to clear.:)

Very quick..a little over a week

I'm waiting too. That's why I started this thread. Mine is at OKW. We submitted our paperwork on 2/13. I'm soooooo anxious to hear back from Disney and finish this. I'm ready to call and make our first reservation!

Time it took from our first call to closing was totally consistent with what The Timeshare Store told us it would be - approx 8 weeks. Don't know if your resale purchase is through TTS but from research we've done on this board it seems that resales from other sources as well will usually take about the same amount of time. Disney took only one week on our contract's rofr process.

Our timeline went as follows:

Dec 12 our call to TTS to initiate purchase.
Dec 19 our signed paperwork & deposit received by TTS. They submit to Disney ( for rofr process ) that same day.
Dec 26 notified we made it through rofr :cool1: . At this point, I believe, Timeshare Closing Services handled remaining steps in process (estoppel, etc.)
Jan 30 Final paperwork ( closing documents, etc. ) received by us.
Feb 4 TTS receives our signed final documents and our check (certified) to pay off balance due, closing costs & maintenance fees that are due.
We did not take a loan or do any other kind of financing on this purchase so I can't comment on whether that would have added time to things.
Feb 7 TTS notifies us that we've officially closed ( 8 weeks ! ).
On Feb 14 Disney call us to tell us points are in our account & we can now make reservation using them. So actually it all took 9 weeks before we had ability to use points for reservation.

Best wishes to you & hope you hear that you've passed rofr real soon !

A VERY LONG, AGONIZING 15 days!!!! :lmao:

Hopefully, yours comes through sooner! Sending lots and lots of pixie dust your way to all who are waiting! pixiedust:

LOL! I know what you mean! It's only been 10 days for us and I'm ready to go :crazy2:! Hopefully we'll hear soon!

Our contract went to Disney for ROFR on Feb. 4th and we were notified that if passed on Feb. 14th so 10 days for us.

It took everything in me not to stalk Jackie at GMAC. I'm really not kidding. I wanted to call her every day to say, "Did you hear yet???" I kept watching the ROFR thread and actually knew within reason when I thought I might hear. When you start seeing reports of people passing ROFR, and their contracts were submitted around the same time yours was, you should hear back soon. I heard within a day of other people posting.

Believe me, I feel your pain. I've never been good at waiting. :rolleyes1 All I can say is thank heavens for ultrasounds. A full 40 weeks without knowing (twice!!!) whether I was having a boy or a girl (DS is 12, DD is 5) would have put me six feet under! 20 weeks was almost more than I could take!!! Doctor came in and asked DH and me if we wanted to know what we were having. I said, "I don't care if he wants to know or not. If he doesn't, whisper in my ear!"

:rotfl2: :lmao: You are too funny! I didn't know with my oldest daughter and it was torture! She had her legs closed. We tried jiggling my belly and it still didn't work. My other 2 were way more cooperative. :thumbsup2

I got a BCV resale late last year and it took about 25 days to hear back on ROFR. The real waiting came afterward on the closing. :scared1:

Be aware that Disney will contact the seller. The buyer will not hear from DVC - until the purchase has closed and they are new members.

wow! this thread is two years old but its such a longer wait now how long the ROFR decision takes. Is that because more ppl are going the resale wrought?:teacher:

Hmmm.....I wonder. I have been scanning the ROFR thread and trying to see how long typical waits have been in the past year or so (based on date submitted and when heard from Disney), of course not all of them have this info.

My stats so far:

Heard back on first contract in 23 days (lost to ROFR).

I am now 6 days into my second wait....
