I just saw this review on tripadvisor for BCV when trying to find pictures of the new bedding. I have no idea if this problem is isolated or even "true," but this is giving me hesitation on linking my half-used non-exp PH I but a few years ago for an upcoming Nov/Dec trip.

"Before I went I linked our reservation to Disney Destinations. Bad idea! Because they are not using wrist bands yet, it linked my passes and meal plan to a wrist band that we did not have. After many meeting with the manager David (who was great by the way) he had to rebuild my reservation from the start. Once that was fixed we had a great time no problems. My advise would be not to link your reservation to Disney Destinations unless you are sure your hotel is using wrist bands."

Does anyone know whether linking without having magic bands is an issue?

There have been all kinds of issues like the one posted. I wouldn't link my tickets until I knew I was eligible for MagicBand testing or until Disney has rolled out the entire system. The added layer for us DVC owners is canceling and completely rebooking reservations can create holding status points. So Iran issue arises with your booking, watch your point totals carefully.

The disney destinations you are talking about, is that the my disney experience? If not, what is it?

Don't do it! I tried to link my DVC AP to my My Disney Experience account, and it linked instead to my nine month old grandson in my Friends and Family section. So far, tech support cannot get it into my name and out of his. This should never have rolled out until it was completely tested. I guess if you make an error you can't correct it.

Great.....I just linked my AP vouchers to the whole family for our upcoming trip in 13 days. I was trying to get Fast pass + for select days.

I linked our 10 day non-expiring tickets to our current reservation and had no problems using our tickets at Blizzard Beach earlier today. Guess we'll see what happens tomorrow morning at the Magic Kingdom.

Oops. I just added our PAP DVC vouchers to our DVC room ressie for a trip in 2 wks. Hoping for no issues but what should I bring in case there is an issue?

Well, my Ap's, that were converted to RFID in May when we went were linked to MDE, but not from me.

I did go ahead and link everyone's new UT passes that are not yet activated. Hopefully, there will not be problem for having done that!

We go in 8 days!!!

Although there has been some discussion that linking currently allows you to pull FP- from both your ticket AND KTTW
(I wish I knew that last month, especially with a split stay ;)

Yes, you link your tickets to your My Disney Experience account.

Disney pals, I have been on dvc since there was an online and it has never been anything but problems. not every time, but pretty consistently, I did book a reservation on there, but immediately print it out. that's all I'd do on there as the program has been set to do that before, then they took it down , to many bugs. Disney does a lot of things right, web sites is not one of them IMHO.
plus its much easier to make a phone call, they e-mail a copy and give you a confirmation number.

Are you talking about online booking? I do all mine that way and its been great...this is talking about linking park tickets to the My Disney Experience , which is for all guests, and is not a DVC thing.

But I do agree that Disney and IT are slow to get to things...

What's this I hear?

But I'm still not linking out of fear of Disney's "amazing" IT capabilities. ;)

guess I wasn't clear, booking reservations with points is the ONLY thing I do and only if I'm booking a DVC resort... I wouldn't count on anything else online,,, and I mean Nadda

You wont have much choice in the future if you want to use fastpass Plus. We did link our PAP vouchers to the MDE, and now I'm thinking I might want to get tickets for our adult "kids" who are going with this time so we can put their tickets in there too. I'm worried that if 2 of us have linked passes and 2 don't it will be a bigger issue. I just have to keep my fingers crossed that fastpass plus and the armbands are working for everyone by the time we get there at the end of December.

Well, we are going the 18th through the 23rd. We fly in late the 18th and staying at Pop Century for 1 night, then move to SSR for M-F. Since POP is one of the magic bands resorts tests, we got magic bands in the mail today. I linked our PAP vouchers to them.....so we shall see what happens. All my DVC reservations are still listed on the MDE site. Fingers crossed. Now that I have the bands, I'm hoping they will let us continue to use them at SSR, even though it's not part of the test.

I'm wondering if they will give out new bands everytime, or if the future, we can use the bands we have for future trips......especially if your AP is linked to it, or if they will reprogram new ones each time.

I'm going to check the regular Disboards to see if there any threads there on this problem. With all the post there I would think it would show up on those threads.
