Which area do you prefer? When I started going to Disney years and years ago, we always stayed on International drive. Now, though I much prefer staying on Hwy192. To me it "seems" a closer drive to the parks then International drive. We do go to Universal Studios on our Orlando trips, but that is usually only one day, and that is a little longer drive.
So where do you prefer to stay?

The Lake Buena Vista area: Off of SR 535 which is near the downtown disney area.

I agree w/ herc. We've stayed off 192 several times and off International Drive as well but love the conveniece of being off SR 535 (either right at the entrance to Downtown Disney or in one of the Downtown Disney hotels) the best! ;)

We rent pool villas when we go. We stayed in Davenport last year and are staying in Cumbrian Lakes (192 area) this time. We don't mind a bit of a drive and don't do Disney the whole time.

We are going in June, and we are going to stay at the Comfort Inn in LBV..I thought I wanted to give that area a try and be closer to Downtown Disney;)

We prefer Lake Buena Vista as well. Downtown Disney hotels are a great option for being close to things on and off property.

We will usually go where we can get the best deal. If I can get a great rate for the Peabody (usually during the summer months) I would stay out on I-Drive. If one of the Downtown Disney hotels we like (Hilton, Buena Vista Palace) are offering good rates we will stay there. We got a great deal on the Dolphin through the Entertainment Book one year so we stayed there.

Another vote for 535. We've stayed at many nice resorts, but Sheraton Vistana is our favorite and it's extremely convenient.

We are staying in March just barely down 192 at Westgate Vacation Villas. I stayed next door to there at Wyndham Palms a year or so ago and that's also pretty convenient, though a lot of times we did come the back way via Sherbeth Rd if the traffic was going to be heavy.

I prefer 192, west of I 4. I've stayed all up and down 192. When I rent houses and condo's it is usually off west 192 ie, Rolling Hills,Windsor Hills. One time, long ago, we stayed on I drive. Never again. Just not as convenient and the traffic is worse than 192 in my opinion. I've also stayed in the Lake Buena Vista area and depending on the price, would stay there again.

I like both US192 West close to the WDW main entrance and AK - or LBV - both have some nice places to stay.

(some of us 192 east - that is close to IDS - it is not far either)

all have sidewalk and eating places not to far away these days.

We also like 192 area - just returned from Winsor Hills & would highly reccomend this resort - it is very near WDW & about 20mins to Universal.
