For those w/ upgrades

How did you find out you got an upgrade? Did the cruise line call you or was it a surprise when you checked in at the pier?

We received a call from the TA and I have read that this method is very common. Some people have just received their documents with a room number assigned and the catagory was a catagory higher than they booked...I've even heard they find out at the port...
don't forget, many of us need to look up the room number to see the catagory so sometimes it isn't obvious...when my TA called (not a great TA) she was concerned I be upset that I had a different room - she didn't know it was an upgrade

We booked using Dreams Unlimited and received an email stating that we were given complimentary upgrades for both rooms! It was a NICE surprise!

We booked with Costco. They called us and said Disney had called them to say that we ahd been given an upgrade.

Great way to get into the cruise-mood!

Our cruise is not until October (we booked onboard last Nov.) and our TA e mailed me last week.

I booked directly with disney 11 months in advance. Price of my cabin dropped one month later and I rebooked. I found out by checling my ressi on the disney cruiseline site. I did this AFTER I had received my docs stating my initial cabin number. 3 weeks before sailing the site gave a different cabin #. I went from an cat. 6 to a cat 4. That was three weeks on friday. Today I actually got a call from disney telling me to change the cabin number on my luggage. Any questions call 1-800-WDWCruise. I think the randon upgrades are based on how many million time you log onto their site after booking

On our May 1 cruise meet one of the cruisers with us just got upgraded from a Cat 4 to a Cat 3 and she already had her room number as well!

Looks like the 5-1 cruise keeps getting people with upgrades!
