Can someone tell me what CROCS are???

Here is the most popular or at least the most commonly found style of CROCS...

It comes in 18 different colors. The company also makes other styles. If you're interested in seeing more, just go to their website...

www.crocs.com

This should help.

Last December the 3-11 was warm! Most days it reached the mid 80's. If you watched the Christmas parade, it was filmed the weekend we were there. QUOTE]

How do you know when they tape the Christmas parade? We will be there 3-9.

This thread is great. This is our first December trip and I wasn't sure what to expect weather-wise.

Thanks for this timely post - I had no idea what to expect weatherwise and was planning on checking weather.com a few days before we left. Actually I still don't know what to expect, other than anything and everything!

At least now I know that bringing hats/gloves might be necessary. They will come in handy for the trip back to the Great White North, if nothing else!

OMG! These are the most wonderful things in shoes! They are foamy shoes and you can find a generic version of them at Payless Shoes, I believe they are called Airwalks. I've never tried the Airwalks, but the Crocs are sooooo comfy. The ONLY sandalls I've ever worn that didn't leave a blister on my feet. The plus side of the brand name Crocs is that they are treated with an anti-macrobial solution so when you slip off your Crocs at the end of a long day of walking at Disney your feet won't smell like a mixture of vinegar and rotten cheese. So, they are also the only clog type shoes I've ever owned that don't make my feet stink!

I will warn you however, once you have worn these shoes they will spoil your feet. Even the cusiest of tennis shoes will feel like you are straping wooden boards to your feet. I've been on a quest to try to find some tennis shoes to alternate with my crocs for our Dec trip and have not found anything nearly cushy enough.

I'm glad Tyler is little so if I pack a ton of clothes they still don't take much room up. Plus we bought him a airplane ticket, so he is allowed his own luggage!

I would highly recomend some gloves and caps for little ones. We went with our nieces (2 & 3 yrs) in Dec. 2003. It was cold in the mornings and their hands were freezing. As I rememeber, some days were never very warm to remove layers. We live in Nebraska, so we are acclimated to cold as much as one should be. Tiny gloves were impossible to find, so we ended up buying socks for their hands. I wouldn't go as far to say we need parkas though. A fleece pull over kept everyone happy.

I'm going to plan on Tyler wearing full lenth pants, a t-shirt, and a long sleeve shirt every day. We'll lose the long sleeve shirt if he gets too warm. I will pack him a few shorts, but I doubt we'll use them much. In my experience even if its 70-80 degrees, long pants are fine and that way if he trips the little knees don't get skinned up.

I will be easy to pack for, being pregnant a "human oven", I'll be good in a t-shirt and maternity pants in any climate. I don't do shorts even if its 100+ degrees for the safety of everyones' healthy vision :rotfl:

DH is part polar bear, so he will be fine in shorts and t-shirts in any weather.

:Pinkbounc I CAN'T WAIT TO START PACKING!!!! I GOTS THE DISNEY FEVA! :bounce:

Layer, layer, layer! We froze our behinds off last December - DH even got one of those mondo expensive nylon and fleece WDW coats out his chilliness.

I am not bothering with shorts, other than two pairs of zip off pants, for my two boys. Most of the time, they would start out in fleece pullovers, t-shirts and pants. As the day warmed up, they took off the fleece. At night, we needed jackets on top of this, hats and gloves. I am also bringing a long-sleeved t-shirt or two for layering under short-sleeved t-shirts - that is a sorta fashionable look still, right? :flower:

I brought enough clothes last year but still ended up laundering our long-sleeved stuff (shrunk it too). Brought too many warm weather items. Watch: it will be just the opposite this year! LOL, I guess we'll just have to indulge in some Mickey t-shirts then!

Oh, I will be VERY pregnant so I am bringing mostly stretchy cotton capris and long/short t-shirts for myself. I run hot while PG and doubt I will be quite a cold this year.

It's nice to know I won't be the only one waddling like a duck in the "World" this December! :wave2:

very good to see this list.

So I guess that means swimming may be out of the question? ::boo hoo::

So will we need sunscreen in December? I guess that depends on the weather too!

Yes, I'd take sunscreen. Even when its cold outside, the sun still shines and a fair skined person can burn. I've seen people come home from skiing trips with a bright RED faces. Even if you're not preventing sunburn, I think its a good idea to protect your skin.

Not always, DH and I have gone swimming at Blizzard Beach in December. (how fitting right? Blizzard-December) Weather is just so unpredictable (everywhere!), so while I wouldn't set my heart on visiting a water park, I wouldn't rule it out completley either.
