For anyone who booked their autumn fares with Jetblue when the schedule extended on February 7th, it might be worth checking current prices against what you paid. Our roundtrip airfare dropped from $317 to $248. A phone call to Jetblue this evening yielded a cool $138 in my travel bank (DH & my credits combined).

I am wondering if Southwest's schedule extension is the reason for the drop? At any rate, I'll take it. I hope a few others also find their fares have gone down, too.

Having your fare go down doesn't mean you're getting any money back from JetBlue unless the price drops more than the change ticket fee, unless you bought a Blue Flex fare.

Not entirely accurate. You get the fare difference credited back to your travel bank without a fee if the fare drops within 14 days of purchase (as was the case for me). All it took was a phone call. I have already received email confirmation that the credits have been successfully deposted.

Since it hasn't been 14 days since the schedule was extended, other people may also be in the same boat. It's worth a look.

The policy as noted on their website:

http://www.jetblue.com/travel-agents/lower-fare/

JetBlue offers travel agents the ability to rebook down to a lower fare prior to travel if a decrease in price occurs after a ticket has been issued. Effective June 30, 2015, there will be a fee based on the fare option booked associated with honoring a lower fare on tickets exchanged 15 days or more after the original booking date.

  • Blue $70
  • Blue Plus $60
  • Blue Flex $0
For tickets exchanged within 14 days or less of the original booking date, this fee will not be charged and Waiver Code 'B6HLF15' must be placed in the Tour Code box.
