For those that have spent a lot of time at Ft Wilderness Camp Ground...

What is the single best piece of advice you can give to those of us that are visiting Fort Wilderness Camp Ground this year for the first time?

Have at least one day of down time to actually relax and enjoy it. Too many people go there for first time and spend every day in the parks and then afterwards wonder what the big deal about FW was. They never took time to relax.

I 100% agree with this! Our first trip to FW we didn't plan any down days, and when our vacation was over, we all regretted that. Our next trip in August, we only have 1 park day and 1 water park day planned. The rest of our vacation will be just enjoying FW.

Make sure you go to the sing a long at least once. It's a lot of fun! Also, Trail's Inn brunch is delicious and worth ever dollar!

Sing along is a great time, with or without kids. You can view the fireworks from the beach and watch the Electric Water Parade.
You can visit the barn where all the horses are housed that pull the wagons for parades, the headless horseman at halloween, etc. Go searching for Bama Ed's initials in the concrete. This is just the tip of what one can do at the fort !!!

Thank you for that! We are planning to go Sunday through Friday. We are considering adding a day, partially so we have a down day in the middle. We may get tickets for that day in case we want to go to a park for a little while...but we would not have to use it since it's so cheap to add one more day. That is great advice!
