Wondering if anyone that has seen the pictures and didn't care for the decor has since seen the models in person and changed their minds.

I think I remember a lot of discussion about the WLV decor when the pictures first came out and then folks changed their minds once they saw them in person.

Anyone have any recent pictures of the construction site?

Bumping this since I am very interested, as well. We are thinking of buying into SSR.

IMO, photos of the SSR rooms don't do them justice. They were much nicer in person. I found the same to be true at both VWL and BCV.

I will be posting some more SSR construction photos in about 10 days! :smooth:

Here are some photos of the SSR models taken August 8.

Here are some SSR construction photos taken over Memorial Day weekend.

When we went to check out the DVC sales pitch, they had some rooms decorated in SSR style.

I must say, I really liked it. Something about the dark wood that made the room look richer, classy looking....

I love the pictures! Thanks! Can't wait to see the models in person this Dec.

WebmasterDoc,
How far of a walk do you think it would be to DTD from SSR?

-DC :)

What's not to like? It's lovely!!

I'm hoping my daughter sees this thread.

She's thinking of buying in! :p

It appears that there is a ceiling fan in the living room but I am not sure about the master bedroom.

SSR does look great. I especially like the photos in the link that DOC provided. They look much more "real".

I'm going to take DH to see the models in October when we are there before he agrees to an add on.;)

Yes, there is a ceiling fan in the master bedroom at all DVC Resort 1BR and larger villas.

There are two routes to DD from SSR. One is over the golf cart bridge and it will be less than 800 yards to House of Blues/Cirque from the new buildings. It has been rumored that another bridge will be built across Trumbo Canal which would shorten that walk by 150 yards. (They don't really want guests walking across the cart bridge, as the cart drivers do not always pay close attention in that area.) The other walk will be about 400 yards from the new buildings to the Marketplace end of DD- near Rainforest Cafe and Days of Christmas.

Enjoy!

Loubon,

So you really liked them? Did you add on there? Do they really look that different than the pictures?

No offense Doc and Loubon, but any femals out there that have seen the models that have any comments?

I didn't have the pictures with me so I can only tell you that in person they were very nice. I do remember also thinking that when I saw Doc's pictures.

RweTHEREyet - No offense taken but my wife and two daughters also liked them.

I am a female and saw the SSR rooms...I thought they were very nicer, even nicer than some of the other resorts which are nice but "cute". The SSR rooms looked rich and classy

I was there for Member Day last week and they are absolutely the most beautiful decorated DVC units they have done so far. I was so impressed, that I went back for a second look two days later and added on another 100 points! I'm orginally from the Saratoga Springs area, and they have captured the "look" of this beautiful area in upstate NY. A very upscale, but comfortable look. You have to see it in person to really appreciate it.

Hey Mom, this is your favorite son.... In fact, this is your only son, i think, and just wanted to say that if you wanted pictures of the place then you shoulda just asked me to get you some pics of the place....

I can't wait to see them in October! These things always have a way of looking better in person. Man, I hope they don't look to good....

I will post when I get back after the 1st!

I am really afraid now! Especially since my TA almost ruined my upcoming trip!

My guide made the point of "You won't have to worry about that if you are DVC!"

Prince, thanks for your offer. I have seen pictures of the models, but even though a picture is worth a 1,000 words, sometimes pictures just don't do justice to a subject. Seeing in person is the only solution, I believe. I will check out the models myself next weekend.

Now, pictures of construction progress are another story. All of us here are greatly interested in how things are going, and if you wanted to go to DTD and take pictures across the water of SSR about once a week to update us on that, I am sure it would be greatly appreciated.
