For those that have paid cash for 2br's....???

Has anyone paid the cash rate without DVC discount and why if you don't mind me asking?

If you have paid cash for a 2br weekend stay ..did you do it to save weekend points?

Would you pay 472.50 (DV Discount) at OKW for a Sat. or use 73 points?

If you have paid cash.....what time of day did you arrive? Would you arrive after 4:00 and still pay that same cash rate? Do you feel that paying cash is more worth it if you can arrive early in the day???

I've paid for a Friday night at SSR but it was at the end of our week long trip. We were on points Sun-Th.

I don't think I'd want to pay points or cash to arrive after 4pm. In fact, I prefer going to our Marriott TS first so we can arrive whenever and not worry that we're missing something.

When we go down in Oct, we'll probably book a Marriott hotel Sat night so we can check-in early Sun.

We've paid cash a couple of times for a two-bedroom at OKW. It was always to extend the trip over Friday. One time we got the 25% DVC discount and another time we did not. Why, because we wanted to stay another night and were short points. But if we have the points, we usually use them.

I paid cash for a 2BR at Wilderness Lodge. We wanted to go over Christmas last year, and by the time the plans were made there was no availability on points and no cash discounts. I never would have done it if we hadn't been sharing with another family. Two of our nights were "holiday pricing" at $1075.00 per night, while the others dropped to $610.00 per night. My cost for half was $2600.00 for the week - 7 days in a 2BR villa. I had the master bedroom with the king bed and my daughter shared the sleeper sofa with her friend. The other family had the second bedroom for mom, dad and younger brother. It was a great fit!!!

I don't think I'd pay that much for a cash reservation. In that case, we usually move resorts and stay at the Poly or the Grand Floridian. We also try to anticipate when we are going to have a stay like that and put the resort room at the front of the vacation. We might arrive on Thursday or Friday, stay the weekend at the Poly, and then move to DVC for 5 nights. If we want to stay through a second weekend, we move resorts again. The most we've ever done was two weekend stays at resorts and 2 5 night stays at DVC.
