This will be our longest trip ever...split between OKW and BCV. Since we are going in July (arriving July 20th) and it will be hot and crowded we want to do other things and not just PARKS. We plan to hang by the pools and go to BB and TL, go to DTD, rent a pontoon boat at DTD, take boat to FW for dinner at Traiils End. Our boys enjoy going to FW and it is a nice side trip. I want to do things off the beaten path....really take in and enjoy both resorts. We have AP's with Disney Quest and water parks......so we will visit all of these and of course do some park action. Thanks.

Visiting Celebration is a good way to spend half a day and get a meal while you are there, the restaurants are very nice.

Claire ;)

We also plan to stay this year around 8 days (which is our longest trip ever doing DVC). We will have two teen boys with us who do not like to do parks everyday. We plan to do some of the things that you mentioned. We are staying at WL for the first 3 then onto SSR for our last 5 days. We love to do a park day, then a day off. We are going to hang out at the pools in the afternoons. We are going to shop...have a nice sit down meal every night...visit all the hotels at least once just to look around. We will rent boats/bikes and enjoy those. I also made reservations for Cirque De Soleil as we have never seen this show and are excited. My boys will probably hang out at Disneyquest one afternoon while we either shop or get a massage. I know we are going to have a great time.

We will have a car and can venture off if we chose...but I just want to go and stay there and enjoy myself. Our everyday lives are so hectic and non stop go go go....I just want to be in one local place :)

have a great trip...

We stay for 14 nights as we travel from the uk, we tend to do parks most of the time, however we are starting to concentrate on the water parks, and shopping.

We are going to Discovery cove for the day DD was unable to swim with the dolphins last time she was too young.

Another Brit here! We love to resort hop, going by boat to WL from MK, travelling form the GF to the Poly by the monorail. Taking a boat trip from SSR tp POR. My favourite day out of the parks last time was walking to OKW from SSR and then getting the boat to DTD. However me and DH are now child free, the kiddos might not find that a better option than the parks!

Our boys discovered the community halls this past trip and really enjoyed spending some time there. They also had fun playing tennis and everything you need is provided. This was something new and different for us on days we preferred to just enjoy the resort and take it slowly. We too are always there for two weeks so we have the time to slow down and enjoy.

We schedule almost every morning in a park, and then come back to the resort for naps/swimming/etc. We schedule ADRs for about every other night, and leave the rest open. We did lots of other things like taking the boat from OKW to DTD, sceduling ADRs at other resorts so we could check them out (the kids loved checking out the savana at AKL after Boma), and exploring our own resorts. We were there for 13 days and had 10 day hoppers plus PPP tix, so we spent 11 of our 13 days doing at least a park for part of the day. On the PPP day we stayed around the resort and went to the MK at 4 so that we didn't need to use a day on our hoppers.

I dunno :confused3 , we never have taken a tripthat long before.

But when you come back, make sure you post a trip report.

We're going for 21 days this April. I just started planning the daily itinerary this past week. My first step is to do the ADRs (one or two a day max since we're not big eaters). The ADRs help us plan where we'll be on a given day.

Day 1 (Sun): We arrive by driving down from Maryland. Probably the 2nd or 3rd day on the road for us. We'll have stopped at the Florida Welcome Center earlier for our complimentary glasses of orange juice and grapefruit juice (I like a mix) and a picnic outside with the birds. In Orlando, we'll check into our Marriott resort, unload the van and head out for groceries from Walmart or Publix. We may end up at Perkins for dinner or a quick hop to DTD. Depends how eager we are to see Mickey.
Day 2 (Mon): We head to Magic Kingdom so Dad can get his mohawk haircut at the Barber Shop. It's a tradition for every trip we take, especially the Spring one. He needs to shed his Winter long hairdo for the warmer months. (Kinda like a groundhog, eh?) Then we'll putt around taking in some rides, gazing at the roses in the Castle gardens, making new friends with the current crop of College CMs, seeing a parade or two and fireworks from our favorite spot.
Day 3 (Tues): We'll use our 2 year APs at Seaworld and spend a day there. It's close to our Marriott resort and very nice in the warm months.
Day 4 (Wed): Our Monorail resorts day. We'll start with Afternoon Tea at GF, then walk around the lake to Poly and the TTC. Hop a monorail to Contemporary and wind up at Cali Grill for dinner that night. Since we're starting late, I foresee a morning at the pool as well.
Day 5 (Thurs): We have lunch ressies at LeCellier so this would be our EPCOT intro day. Gotta visit the butterfly garden and see all the new sights.
Day 6 (Fri): Lunch at SciFi Dine-In Theater so we head to DHS this day. If tradition holds we'll also be getting our margueritas at the Backlot Bar and heading to the afternoon show of Lights, Cars, Action!
Day 7 (Sat): Lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe so we head to VWL this day. Where we end up is unclear. Maybe a boat to Fort Wildnerness and perhaps miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens. Or maybe we'll pop into Seaworld again.
Day 8 (Sun): Morning mass at Mary Queen of the Universe with a trip to DTD later. We're gonna try going to the Gospel Brunch at House of Blues then a little shopping.
Day 9 (Mon): Lunch at the Plaza in Magic Kingdom so we'll be back there that day.
Day 10 (Tues): Lunch at Garden Grill in EPCOT. Since we concentrated on World Showcase last week, we'll probably be spending time in FutureWorld this day. Soarin' is a must. Also some time at Living Seas. And I can do Test Track now, so we'll see that. Perhaps check out the festival center and Innoventions. My Dad will want to see the improvements to Spaceship Earth.
Day 11 (Wed): Dinner at Boma's so this becomes our Animal Kingdom day. We start early and spend the day there. Then at closing we head over to AKL. Hopefully it is hot & sunny, typical African weather.
Day 12 (Thurs): No plans.
Day 13 (Fri): Breakfast at Spoodles with walk or ferry trip to EPCOT. We have dinner planned for San Angel in Mexico that night.
Day 14 (Sat): Seaworld again. Gotta keep using those APs and we're moving into Disney the next day so we want to get home early and pack. We'll pack the van that night and be ready for an early morning check-out/check-in.
Day 15 (Sun): We leave Marriott and drive over to SSR. If all goes well, we'll be checking in by 9am. We may be heading out again to church and if it's good pool weather, we'll hit the HRS pool. Then I'm thinking lunch either at Turf Club or Olivia's at OKW. We may be hitting DTD that night as well. Or else we'll take advantage of our first EMH and head to Magic Kingdom.
Day 16 (Mon): No plans
Day 17 (Tu): No plans
Day 18 (Wed): Dinner at Yak & Yeti. It's also EMH for Animal Kingdom so we'll stay late and see what it's like.
Day 19 (Thur): No plans
Day 20 (Fri): No plans
Day 21 (Sat): No plans
Day 22 (Sun): We sorrowfully pack our bags and start the long journey home consoling ourselves with the knowledge we'll be back in 6 months for Food & Wine.

I purposefully didn't make a bunch of plans the week we're actually in Disney because I expect we'll be spending quite a bit of time at the resort. Morning walks around SSR, afternoons at the pool, maybe some of the activities (i've been itching to do the ceramics for a while), etc. We'll get over to PI some nights for the comedy clubs and Raglan Road. We'll do EMHs. And maybe I'll see if we can work in a tour or two. Our number one goal is just to relax and let the spirit move us.

After dinner at Fort Wilderness why not take in a movie and roast marshmellows with chip and dale. You can also see an outdoor movie at BCV. You can take a hay ride at fort wilderness also. Kids can also check out the petting zoo. Putt Putt sounds like fun.
Why not let the kids stay at one of the kids club and mom and dad get a spa treatment together. Our group stays for 14 days and I have an annual pass but everyone else gets a 7 day pass. We always find plenty to do besides the parks. Susan

Thanks for the ideas. We are going to go to Fantasia mini golf this trip too. WE did the other one a few years ago when we stayed at CS. I will post a trip report when we get back. :thumbsup2

Most of all relax and have fun. It doesn't all have to be about commando touring and rides. One of the nicest discoveries my dad and I made last year was that all the theme parks are PARKS. Yes, long walking paths, benches, places for snacks, the odd activity happening, tons of people to meet and greet.

Some of my fondest memories are just sitting in the Castle foreground circle and watching. I once heard an excited voice call out "Wheeeee! I'm in Disney Woooorld!". When I looked over to identify the voice, I saw a young college age boy doing somersaults across the castle circle while his embarrassed girlfriend just shook her head and laughed. Disney brings out the kid in everyone.

Looks like somebody is trying to show off!

As my kids say............."Lucky"!

There's room in my suitcase. Wanna stowaway?:rolleyes1

Anything to get away from this dreary weather.

As we are from the UK we tend to take longer trips. We will be staying for 21 nights in Dec and plan to try and do most of the parks before the Christmas crowds hit then we will go with the flow.

We have just booked our flights for next years also. We will be staying for a month in July/Aug 09. We are going to try and have more down time. We will still fit in all the parks, not just the Disney ones, and we will have chill out days. We will spend these at a water park, shopping or at the pool.:thumbsup2

Would love to squeeze in a 3 night cruise but doubt money will permit.

We tend to sleep in, swim at the pool, go to dinner and hit night time EMH. some mornings we make it to rope drop but not most. I also plan something extra for the kids each week. Pirate cruise, tea party, cooking class at GF...it really breaks it up. I love to go to DD and catch a movie. I just love it all...:goodvibes

Longest stay was 16 days. We usually stay for 10. A week is too short for us. What I love about long stays is you get to RELAX. You don't have to run around to try to squeeze everything in. I like to hang out by the pool and just enjoy the resort. Experiencing the different resorts is half the fun of DVC!

WOW 21 days seems like heaven and a month even more so. You are lucky. Have fun. :cool1:
