This link RATP website prices shows that a Paris Visite card for one day, 1-5 zones is about 5 euros more than a mobilis ticket for 1-5 zones.

If you are only planning on using the ticket for travel on the RATP system and not going to the airport, or are not buying it for the discounts, makes more sense to buy a mobilis ticket. Be prepared to insist on buying this ticket, though - I have been buying them all month, but today I met up with a rather surly ticket clerk who tried to tell me that I am a tourist and insisted that I could only buy the Paris Visite card.

Considering the very long hours I have been working here in Paris over the past several weeks, I definitely DO NOT consider myself a tourist and made it very clear in my best French that I was not one....

Cheers :thumbsup2

The links to the English version of the websites are in the Useful info sticky here

Thanks for the advice bavaria. :goodvibes

We were very lucky when we went into Paris as the ticket clerk who served us was very helpful and after asking what we wanted to do in Paris only sold us the mobilis tickets. :)

It's not surprising to learn that they don't mention it on the English version!!

Excuse me if I'm being a bit thick, but if this is a ticket for the RER, why can't it be used to get to the airport?

I've just dug out our tickets and the leaflet the clerk gave us ~ it states in the leaflet you can't travel to the airport with the mobilis pass nor is there a half-price option for children as with the Paris Visite card. In fact looking at our tickets and receipt, DH and I were sold a mobilis pass for 12.30 euros each but my DDs were sold tickets with "Samedi, Dimanche et Fetes" on which cost 6.20 euros each.

Thanks Elaine - it's good to know about these things :)

I'm off to the metro station directly outside my window to buy my mobilis ticket to DLRP today :teeth: . Hope that I don't have to meet up with the same clerk !
