for those taking auto train, what time do you leave wdw?

On the day we will be leaving I am going to drive my car and park at magic kingdom. For those that have done the same, what time do you leave magic kingdom to head for the auto train? Last time I think I left around 11am but I was there way too early! I want to make the most out of our last day..lol.

It's hard to answer this question, since you didn't indicate what time the train leaves.

We usually leave from the Downtown Disney area and are on the road by about 12:15. It normally takes us about an hour to get to the AutoTrain station, so you should be there by 1:15/1:30. If there are unexpected delays on the road, you would have an hour or so "cushion". Make sure you list your cell phone number with AMTRAK when you purchase your tickets, that way if there is a delay in departure for the AutoTrain, they can let you know so you don't have to spend extra time sitting at the terminal.

We usually leave about 11:30, stop for lunch, stop at grocery for a few snacks then get to the station before 2. We find that 1:30 ish is before the rush, you get your choice of meal times and you don't have a horribly long wait.

The latest they will accept any vehicles is 3:00. We were advised by many to be there well before 2:00. They accept vehicles beginning at 11:30 am. I think we left CR about 10: 30, arrived in Sanford about an hour later, had time to attend church and then arrived at the station about 1:15 with plenty of time to check in and relax in the tent before boarding the train.

we usually leave hollywood studios no later then 12:30 to 1 pm, the auto train is exit 101 and disney is in the 60's for exits so it's right around 40 to 45 miles away from disney.with a lead foot it takes 50 mins to an hour drive. but you know how us marylanders drive .ecspecially when you been driving the capital beltway to work for the last 20 years
