Hi all! Kind of a newbie here…my last Disney cruise was when I was 11 with my family and I am now 26 and booking for my boyfriend and I. I am also using a travel agent for the first time. I was in touch with my agent last week who was super awesome and we had exchanged a few emails. She was going to put two bookings on hold for me today and then email me the quotes but no time frame was ever discussed and I am getting antsy as I know bookings opened fairly early this morning and the way the email was worded made it seem like it would be same day. Should I email her? I don’t want to be annoying but never having used a TA before I am unsure how long it generally takes to receive your quote. I guess in short I am wondering what the time frame is from when booking opens until when you receive an official quote specifically with DU.

Phone lines have been crazy all week starting with the Castaway Club bookings and now general public bookings. I know the agents have been on the phones all day every day this week. I don't know if you've been following any of the posts about bookings this week, but if you go read some of those, you'll realize that it's just taking crazy amounts of time for agents to get through to DCL (sometimes 3 to 5 hours on hold, or even longer because it was taking some people 3 hours just to be able to get past a busy signal to get on hold) and then they have lots of clients to price cruises for. I would expect you would get a quote later tonight, but it could be 9:00 or 10:00.

Oh yes I've been stalking the pricing post! lol. That is what I figured I just was unsure if it was often same day response or more like multiple business days. I'm hoping I'll hear from her tonight just wanted to hear other's experiences before pestering her as I'm sure she is busy. :)

Was she booking for you yesterday or today? Since you sailed Disney as a child, you should have silver status and could have booked yesterday, no? If she booked yesterday, then you should have heard something by now. If it is today, then you may have a bit of a wait.

My agent is with mousefantravel.com - so a different agency - but to give you an idea of the timeline I had with her yesterday...

At 9:50 she called me while she was on the phone with DCL because she forgot that the cruise I was transferring to a new booking had originally been about twice the cost and the new one was coming in higher than the Feb cruise I was transferring and she wanted to check with me first. As soon as I said that the cruise could be more as long as the money on the reservation would cover the deposit she said “Ok! Got it!” and went on with DCL.

About 30 minutes later I looked at My Reservations on the DCL site and saw my new cruise and stateroom. No amount since that does not show on reservations owned by TAs, but I knew it would not be over a certain amount based on the amount the deposit could be.

Around 3, I got an email from her with my e-sign documents.

I do not know how many clients she was booking for yesterday - either on DCL or other bookings as well. But there was about 5 hours between her calling me and getting the e-docs.

If an agent had a lot more clients to book, it might take longer. Or your agent may do all the emails at the end of her day (or his day).

It was for today. I am pretty unfamiliar with the Castaway Club but I suppose you are right and I would be a silver member, probably should have done more research. I tried to sign in just now to check my status but Stitch keeps eating the page. Would I be eligible even though the booking would have been done my mom? I did indicate I had cruised before to the TA. But yes it was for today lol

Thank you this is essentially what I was looking for :worship::thanks:

I used DU also and have Silver status. Yesterday am I could see on the Disney reservation site that she put a couple of holds on. I didn't get the actual quote until 9:30 pm. I know she was working to get others their bookings throughout the day. I bet you'll hear by this evening.

Yes you would be Silver status. Everyone gets Castaway Club membership on their first cruise, no matter what age or who is paying (my now young adult kids are Platinum thanks to us lol). I'm surprised your Dreams agent didn't see that you were Silver.

Since you haven't heard from her yet, I'd drop her an email.

I apologize if you're still waiting on your quote. Please email me at JohnDreamsUnlimitedTravel.com and I will be happy to look into it further.

This goes for anyone still waiting to hear from their agent. I am always available to assist however I can.

Thanks
John

I emailed her this morning around 8 am and then received my quote around 10 I'm just a worry wart and it seemed to be getting kind of late. Thank you everyone for their responses!
