For those of you who have planned 11 months+

Thanks for all the advice. I know planning is 1/2 the fun!! I just hope I can resist temptation and not schedule a trip earlier!!

Jason, how much do you want to go back? I would say if you can wait then you should.... It would be tough especially having that AP in your pocket! Personally I would like to split those days up into 2 years... I don't think I could wait over a year.

Honestly 1 year to plan a vacation and save for it is not that big of deal. I love the idea of having something to look forward to all year and to have it TOTALLY paid off before go!

LUV2travl - I couldn't even begin to plan that far out. It would be a waste of my time because I would plan a pre-trip before the trip. We plan 2-4 months out as well. In fact, just last week we booked our trip for 7/2-7/9, a little more than 30 days out. I can hardly wait 30 days, much less an entire year!

I dont mind it-it gives us something to look forward to. We dont have the luxury to plan last minutes vacations (other than small weekend trips ) so we have to plan atleast 6 months or more in advance to schedule vacation time and stuff. I do wish my next trip was here alreaddy though-could use a little disney magic! :wizard:

Luv2trav,

If I could leave tommorrow, I would, so that's how bad I want to go back to WDW, because it was a blast. Option 3 is more of a far out idea than anything else, but boy if I could be patient, hold off and not take a vacation in 2006, 27.5 vacation days in 2007 would be great. Just think, I could go to WDW once every couple of months :cool1:. So it's really down to May 2006 or Dec 2006, or maybe both if I take shorter trips (only a week each).

If I could leave tomorrow for WDW I also would in a heartbeat but that's not feasible so I settle for planning trips 11+ months in advance! Right now we're planning for a family trip May 6-13 with our new baby, my sister, niece, and mom. To fill the time I DIS a lot plus like others I research airfares, tickets, etc. I already have our tickets - thanks mousesavers and are waiting for airfares to be released for that week. I think it also helps to spread out the cost of the trip rather than be hit all at once. Also since my this will be our 5th trip but only my family's second I am planning on making everyone "vacation packs" for Christmas so that is helping me to stay busy as well. I've only got a couple more things I need for my niece and then I'll start working on the others.

I know it is a sickness :flower: but I come from a long line of planners so I guess it is in my blood :goodvibes I'm thinking after next May's trip that we'll wait until Dec 2007 for the next one and then Oct 2008 after that. I have an AP I never activated so I want to plan 2 trips within the same year to take advantage. Like I said - it's a sickness!

We were supposed to go in Jan of 2006 but it would make things finanacially very tight and we just got out of credit card debt and I want to have everything paid for the next time we go, which will be Dec. 2006. IT is sooo hard to wait. It will end up costing us more cash wise but probably less finance charge wise.

You know your in need of a WDW trip when you start listening to WDW attraction music from other peoples sites. This is going to be a long 11+ months until my next trip to WDW.
