Walked into the local Disney Store last night. Even more princess junk. They've totally removed the plush "pile" and filled it with pink princess toys. There were also clearance signs on practically every display. Is this the sign that the store is going to close? Just wondering what the other stores looked like before they closed up shop.

Open one day, closed the next. No going out of business sale, just closed. Windows covered, everything removed.

The princess thing and the percent off sales have ben happening a lot, the nicest store here has lots of princess, toy story, and one other movie tie in that escapes me. Both of them have sales a lot, but unless you ask, you don't know if they are closing, and the CMs may not tell you anyway.

I wish they would go back to the old way, adult clothing, house stuff, accessories, etc. I guess the new pres of stores likes what they are doing, no matter what us kidless adults who are Disney addicted and have some $$$ to spend say. And they should drop the prices on their videos/DVDs. Why buy them there when KMart, Target, Walmart, and Costco all have them for so much less?

The Disney Store can't seem to find a way to be unique any more. It's too bad.

One Disney Store that closed near us did it the way mickeyfan described. They were just suddenly shuttered without any warning.

When the one by me closed I only found out because one of the CMS was also a preschool teacher at my son's school. And I was told by another CM no discounts or sales; they just move the merchandise to another store.
I also have started buying videos elsewhere. Anyhow, who needs 4 prints of a movie? I have a dozen single prints of other releases and now that the kids are getting older I have nowhere to hang them up. Why do I need 4 prints with each film?

All the disney stores in Australia have closed, from boxing day it was 25% of asll stuff, I went in a few weeks before the last closed, all they had was toy story characters, and princess horses.

For most of us the best Disney stores would be the ones at Downtown Disney. I only go to the mall store to make use of my Disney Club discount on new dvd's and we all know where that's headed:(

DH and I were walking the mall the other night, started to walk by the Disney Store and I decided to go in just to check to see if they might have what I wanted, and hadn't been able to find anywhere else...an interactive Stitch. They had three of them!!! I was so happy!! And only $35!! They're going for over $40 (plus shipping and "handling") on ebay. I grabbed one up right away!! I was thrilled!!! But I do agree with others, I wish they would have more adult stuff and household things, especially for the kitchen. And they have very few musical snow globes. :(

I have to go 30-4- miles to get to one of two Disney Stores in my area. The third is in south Denver (I think it's still there). We went to Fort Collins Friday evening to go to a lumber store and since we were there, we went to the Disney Store. IT'S CLOSING!! They were having a huge sale 50% off the last marked down price. They are closed today. There wasn't much left. Mostly stuffed animals and pricess stuff. I couldn't find anything to buy. No videos, no music, no adult clothing, no snow globes. I was so sad. I am now itching to go to Westminster to see if that store is still there. I would be so upset if it closed too. I get my Disney fix by going to these stores and looking around, talking to the CM's, buying Disney Dollars for our next trip.

The Disney Store has gone so far downhill that I don't even think I would miss it if it did close. :(
