We currently have reservations at POP for 4 nights ,then moving on to POR for 3 nights for our June trip.We decided to add another 5 nights to our vacation but are having a hard time with resort availability :guilty: Ideally we would like to stay at POP for 7 night then move to POR for 5,but both resorts have no availability(with the AP rate).Actually, right now we can't find any rooms for the 23rd-28th.Assuming we do find something for those last 5 nights can you give us tips/advice on the easiest way to pack up three times! We are only doing the parks 5 days so we have plenty of off days to move around, just kind of concerned that this is going to be a huge pain! TIA

On our most recent trip we moved several times basically. We stayed at POR for 1 night then went to the Wonder for 3. Upon return we stayed at SOG for 5 then CR Tower for 7. The easy part was POR we never really got settled. I don't think theres really a magical way to do it but what I did was the last day on the Wonder I did a load of laundry (I prefer not to pack dirty clothes) and then we just spent a few minutes packing after dinner since they pick up your luggage at 11pm the last night. I did the same at the other two resorts... the hardest ones are the ones where you've spent the most time because you've gone through more clothes and accumulated more "gear". If you prefer not to do laundry you can just have the family put the dirties in a certain area or bag then it can really be a matter of just grabbing the particular bags. We never completely unpack the suitcases as I'd definitly forget something somewhere.

Last trip moved...I think the key is keeping everything to a minimum. Don't get a ton of groceries, or have a lot of luggage. Personally I would do wash also right before you leave. So if you are staying 7/5 I would bring enough clothes for 3-4 days (with multiple changes if that is something you do for evening/dinner). Limit shoe selections to sandles/sneakers 2 pair pp. I brought a laundry bag and it was helpful. Buy all souvies after you get to you final location. Luckly a lot of your gear should be shorts/tees bring an extra bathing suit. It was so easy to have bell services come...take our bags...we checked out and went to a park, had lunch, went to our new hotel checked in went to the pool, and then dressed for evening and went back to another park. Though it was very smooth, and we had 2 6yos with us.

From experience I can tell you some things we learned:

- Try to keep toiletries in a ziplock bag on the bathroom counter.
- Keep your cell phone charger tied to the handle of your suitcase so it's not forgotten.
- Keep groceries down to a minimum (or keep in your car.)
- Keep a hamper for dirty laundry -or- dedicate one suitcase to it.

... anyone with more tips? Given how our last trip to disney traveled out, I can use any tips I can!

We will be moving 5 times this trip so I am also very interested in tips!!!

I put all my kids clothing in zip-lock bags for ease in quickly picking out outfits.
I also keep all our toiletries in zippie backs too!

Our bags that we take to the parks each day contain a change of clothes for each, since it is the summer this is light stuff, camcorder, digital camera, sunscreen, paper and pens, guidebook, zip bags for leftover food that we may want later and bathing suits. Since I have all this,I am in good shape in case it takes awhile for the bags to reach my new resort!

Have fun and travel light!!!! :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsgirl: :earsgirl:

We have done it several times, and find it to be no big deal. However, we have always had a rental car. We just load the stuff into the car on resort moving day, and go about our business. Usually we plan to have breakfast at or near our new resort, and check in at the same time, even though the room isn't ready. Then we just go about our day, and take the stuff out of the car at our convenience when the room is ready, or when we are back from where ever we went that day.

The first time we did it, I dreaded it, but it turned out to be quite easy. I think the key is the rental car, though.

We are planning 5 nights at ASMo and then moving to AKL for 2 nights. Will Bell Services move our luggage from one hotel to the next? It doesn't sound too hard if they do. As earlier stated, we can go to a park and them come back later and check in to AKL. I will be traveling with 6 people so it has to simple for me.

We stayed in 3 hotels last trip - 2 of them Disney and had no car. We packed 3 suitcases - the smallest one for the shortest stay and opened one case for each hotel. All toiletries went in case 1 and we just transferred the toiletry bags to the 'new' case when we moved. Semmed to work pretty well. All we kept with us on the day we transferred was camera, money - the bare basics plus swimming gear just in case our luggage was delayed in being transerred to the new hotel.

We are staying in only 2 hotels this time, which is ideal for us.

I don't find it really bothersome to pack up and move. In fact, the second time packing is easier as your not sitting at home figuring out what to pack in the first place. Like stated above, I usually pack clothes for about 5 days at most (for an 8 to 10 day trip). I do laundry at least twice as it is convenient to swim around in the pool waiting for your laundry to dry (don't forget to bring a laundry bag and your own detergent, etc). This way allows me to keep my main luggage on the smaller size. Additionally, if I am staying in a resort one night before moving to the next one for 3 or more nights then I pack accordingly with one nightgown on top, next days clothes and a laundry bag on top. That way that is all I have to remove, next morning in go the dirty clothes in laundry bag, zip up luggage and away with bell services.

As for toiletries, I keep them in my carryon and only take out what is needed (brush, toothbrush/paste, hair spray, deoderant and sunscreen). Everything else stays in the carryon until I need it then I pull it out.

Also bring an extension cord for videocamero, cell phone or just extra plug for anything. As stated above keep food and most things down to a minimum and your life will certainly be easier.
