My BF and I are looking to move to FL in about a year or so (maybe a little bit longer or sooner depending on some things). We will love the warm weather, the proximity to WDW and the cost of living as compared to NY.

Anyways - my question is, how is the job market down there. I wouldn't mind making less money than what I am now, but will I be able to find a job at all. I am a graphic designer and my BF is in telecommunications. I would love to stay in my field b/c I love it, but is that even an option.

I would love to hear any thoughts that any of you might have. This is my first time posting on the community board, but from the posts and responses I've gotten from the resorts/theme park boards, I know you are all very well informed!

Thanks in advance.

I can't speak with any authority at all concerning the status of the job market now or in a year. One thing I do know is this: My BIL is the head of human resources for the largest employer in the state of Florida. According to him, job openings are offered first to "qualified" Floridians in an attempt to keep unemployment down in the state. There are times when Floridians searching for employment aren't qualified and the position is offered to any qualified individual. So, in other words, Florida tries to look after its own first. But, you may have skills that are specialized and allow you to "jump to the head of the line". :teeth:
