Publix Supermarket now has Coin Counting machines!::yes:: Take a bag, box, or truckload pf coins into the store, and pour them in, and get the ticket and cash them in!;) It takes 8% of your total, but, to me, well worth it, if you shop there anyway.....I happen to WORK there, so its well worth it to me.!::yes::

We have those CoinStar machines up here in the chain I work for. I can't bring myself to use them, though. Ours charge 9%! No way am I giving away that much money.

I've also heard that most banks will take loose change if you have an account w/ them.

I'm just a do it myself kind of girl.

I love coinstar!! Most banks here will not even take ROLLED coins even if you have an account!!! So to me it is worth it to not have to roll it myself and have stinky hands and to not have to go through the hassle of going from bank to bank trying to find someone to take it.

This has nothing to do with coins!
I just wanted to say Annette_VA that picture is to cute!!!!

My bank, actually a credit union, has a coin machine also. It doesn't charge anything. For 8%, I'd wrap my own coins.

Not going to pay anyone 8% or 9% or even 1% to wrap coins. We sit down with our grandchildren and wrap $100.00 to $200.00 at a time and then bring it to our bank.
When finished we just wash our hands.

Thanks Poohbear123. I have need of that. How convenient

I love Coinstar, too! I've used them many times in Kroger.

My bank will only accept rolled coins and you have to have your name and account number on each roll. I don't have the time or the inclination for that. What I do is bring LOTS of pennes with the other coins to pay for the extra. I love to see it add up!

We use Coinstar at Kroger because it took us four days to count and roll up the $483 we had saved in a jar last year...I don't have that much time to count, sort, roll, mark and then lug that much to the bank...It weighed a ton! So we use the machines now...much easier.

I used the machines in July and it took $18.00 of my money. This last vacation, I rolled all my quarters, dimes and nickles and just took the pennies to coinstar. My bank will take the rolls with the account # on them...I could probably turn them in at work, but I just deposit them. yep...it's a pain...but we had over $300.00 and at 9 cents on each dollar that adds up.

My Credit Union is ALLL the way 20 Min North, and they don't charge either, but, you have to MAKE and APPOINTMENT!! I don't think so, I would rather pay the 8% and besides, I work there EVERY DAY, so its convienent for ME!:p
