For those of you that have switched rooms mid-trip....

We love resort hopping and are now in the habit of it. We don't do it to save $$, though, sadly. :-) Just points.

Our hop from BWV to WL in December couldn't've gone smoother. We packed up, left our things @ bell services, ate bkfst at Kona, visited the Xmas decorations on the monorail resorts and our room was ready when we were done (1 PM-ish???). Our luggage was waiting when we arrived at WL. We were checking in concierge, the bellman confirmed our room was ready, took us up with our bags before we even checked in at the desk! What service!

I say, go for it!

We usually move alot on our trips! A few thoughts:
If you have car, pack one bag to take out just at POP and leave the rest in the car. Whether you check in early or late to WLV is your personal preference.
If you don't have a car, be sure to budget for the bellhops. I always feel like I'm wasting money to have Disney move me. In the past 4 of us, OKW to BWV (8-9 bags counting the carryons that we don't want to carry around the park for the day) and next thing you know it's a $20 tip at OKW to pick them up, and a $20 tip at BWV to get them delivered.

We've changed resorts before, it isn't that bad. But save yourself time and aggravation, do not wait for the luggage services people at value resort to come to your room to get your luggage. Pack it up and take it to the luggage desk yourself, and explain that it needs to be transferred to VWL.

They just don't have enough luggage people at the values to provide really good service, considering all the luggage arriving via Magical Express. Then take off for the park and have a great time, check into VWL at your convenience.

We have done this a few times.

In Dec we stayed at Pop one night and the rest at AKV. We left all our luggage in the car and just brought the overnight bag into the room. I booked earlier and when I got airfare I thought If were there at night we don't have to get up and travel early.:dance3:

It worked great for us. We got up and took our bag. Drove over to AKL and checked in and headed for a park. Our room wasn't ready but we had our stuff in the car.

The other time we split one week at the WL then one week at CS. It hard to go grom a deluxe to the moderate resort. It was more of a hassle :headache: as our room was far from the parking lot and I felt this time we wasted alot of time.

I do it frequently. In my case, it's only me so it's not a big deal. On my last trip, I was in 5 different hotels over a 10 day trip.
1. I spent the first night at an airport hotel at home because of an early flight.
2. I flew into Tampa to spend 2 days and 1 night at Busch Gardens.
3. Next I checked in for 5 night BWV Std View.
4. Spent the weekend near Universal/Seaworld
5. Spent last night at AKV.

In my case, most of the moves in addition to saving weekend points, got me closer to the non-Disney things I wanted to do.
