Who did you use and why? Would you reccomend them? And what package did you choose? How many hours did you get? What is too many? What is not enough? We are having a wishes wedding with about 80 guests, WP and GF if that helps at all?? Im clueless..TIA! :goodvibes

I would also like to know... I know that my photographers have suggested a few people I just haven't had the chance to do research yet:goodvibes

I haven't had my wedding yet, but we will be having a videographer as it is important to us. Most of the videographers I've seen are pretty expensive, but we managed to find a company that has great pricing, so we are able to have the entire day filmed, and we just had our consultation with them a couple weeks ago. They are really nice, and it's a married couple (just like the Arndt's! whom we are having for photography) which I liked because you basically get 2 videographers for the price of one. We felt it's important to us to have videography because there will be moments that we will miss and we know we will go back and watch it. And we're having about 90 people at our wedding at the WP and ADH, so there will definitely be some things that we won't see during the actual wedding. Some people think just photography is enough, but I disagree, at least for my wedding. But to each his/her own!

We are using Celebration Weddings http://www.celebrationweddingsfl.com , they are great!

ahhh!! PERFECT!! I will be looking into them!! As I think viedo is VERY important and DF disagree's I know it costs alot but once you do it you can't go back.

I just emailed them! I like using people DISboarders have met because I am in CT. We have Randy doing our wedding and I love the idea of having this for such a reasonable cost!

Thanks for the info! Staying tuned to hear what you think about their final work!

Hi ladies.. just so you know, I work in video production so please be very careful on picking your videographer. Make sure you watch the work they've done. Also, just because they're shooting 2 cameras.. make sure you ask how long they anticipate the final edit will be. Find out what they're shooting on (if it's standard def or high def), find out if you get the raw footage, if you'll have any input in editing.. and how long it will take to get your final edit. It's average for final edits to take 6 - 8 weeks or more.

I know some people want to just go the cheapest route.. and so many people these days think that they're videographers just because they own a nice camera. so.. please do your research. I know someone here got completely screwed with their videography and I felt so bad for them. Ask the right questions... and don't forget, you will get what you paid for.

We're using M&L PhotoVideo (http://www.mlphotovideo.com/) for our Photography (and Randy Chapman for our Photography). Taking some of the advice from people on the boards, they seemed like the best deal (not the cheapest, but the best quality for the most reasonable price).

We used Tim Toccalino with Silver Bells. David and Vicki Arndt recommended him and we liked that they had worked with him before and would be comfortable working with him on our wedding day. He was very reasonably priced and very, very nice to work with. We laughed that he and his other videographer seemed to be everywhere and he stayed with us all day long (well over the contracted time) and didn't charge us extra. He also did a beautiful job on the finished product.

I'd recommend him in a heartbeat.

We used Stan from STVS and he was fantastic. I haven't got the video yet, but even just the sneak peek is an indication that we will love it for sure. Stan was great to work with, fantastic on the day, and put together the sneak peek for us in 24 hours, which was really awesome - we have relived it so many times thru that 5 minute video it's shocking! I'm guessing I have watched it about 50 times...

I also feel like I got real value for my money, as Stan's pricing was amazing!

If you want to see my sneak peek as an example of Stan's work check out my PJ/TR - it's linked in my signature, and the first post has a index where you can easily find the video...

Good luck!

I wasn't sure if we wanted Videography...we have been going back and forth between pros and cons, mostly about the cost.
After seeing this thread, I really want videography! Since we are already having Randy and he and Stan have a deal together, we are going to try and book him.
Now the problem is our wedding is 2 1/2 weeks away :scared1:
Hopefully it's not cutting it too close.
Fingers crossed!

We haven't had our wedding yet but we are definitely using a videographer because what's left over of that great day are your memories, and the best way to capture it, is live and in color lol. Our videographer is Simply Cinematic, which have been great. Even though there prices are a on the high side, we believe that you get what you pay for. Before we went with Simply Cinematic we were going to use Visions Media but we quickly changed when they sent us a full length sample video (don't be fooled by the trailers). We were extremely disappointed with the quality and lack of effects. Due to the change we lost our $500 deposit but Simply Cinematic was so nice and gave us a break. We booked a 6hr package, trailer, 2 videographers, etc. I think any less than that is not enough to capture your day. I definitely recommend that you book a 8hr package with 2 videographers.

Here's their vimeo website with trailers and some full length movies, http://www.vimeo.com/simplycinematic/videos/sort:date

We used Cinema Chic and I found her prices very reasonable for that style of videography. Our package had two videographers for 8 hours. Even though video wasn't something that was important to me at first, when I started looking into it I found I really wanted a cinematic style and two cameras to capture different angles.

I haven't seen my full video yet, but I loved the preview. Kat was truly great to work with, she was so funny and easy going. She really had some great ideas, some of our favorite pictures are things that she suggested but she was also very unobtrusive. When I mentioned that our reception was extended and I wasn't sure if I should have her come early for getting ready or stay late at the reception, she really went above and beyond to come up with a solution so that we wouldn't miss a thing. Kat arranged to have the second videographer leave earlier and she made up those hours and stayed until the end. And during that extended time she was working hard! Every time I looked over she was in a different spot catching all the action on the dance floor!

Can I ask why no one has mentioned using Disney's videography services? I was considering using them for my ceremony atleast because it will be in the WP and I was excited about having the entry and exit shots as well as the built in cameras.

I believe the price is $1200.00 for the ceremony videography. Is this something I should reconsider?

I can't attest to Disney's videography but I have a feeling that a lot of people don't use disney as they can get their videography for less $.

I booked Simply Cinematic based on their style (I watched past brides videos), and they came highly recommended by a friend and our photographer (The Roots). :worship:

We had STVS do our wedding as well. I got my wedding video two days ago and love it. He and his wife were there filming the day of the wedding and they both are so sweet. They are very responsive to emails and i would totally recommend them.

Yes they are in my front running so far!:goodvibes

Amanda,
David and Vicki suggested Tim Toccalino with Silver Bells to me too.
They also gave me the names of a couple others, but they said that Tim used to work for Disney Video before it was Bruno White. It's nice to hear that other Disers have used him and like his work.:cool1: His prices are quite reasonable which is always a plus!:cutie:

I know Vicki mentioned him to me too and now I can't find his contact info... would you mind sharing it? Thank you!!

Would you mind explaining this a little? I know next to nothing about videography, and I feel like even if I asked a potential videographer these questions I likely wouldn't understand some of the answers anyway!

For example:
1. What would the differences be between standard or high def? Would standard be grainy looking?
2. What would getting the raw footage mean, exactly? Getting a copy of everything that was shot, in addition to the edited video? Would the advantage of that be having the option to "redo" the final video later if I wasn't happy with it?

Videography is something I'm having a tough time with, because it's something I care a lot more about than my DF. Because of that, I don't want to go crazy on the cost... but if the quality is going to be lousy, I would rather not have it at all. I've tried to do some research but my lack of knowledge is proving to be a major handicap! I don't know what features I should be sure to get and what I could do without, I haven't a clue how many hours I would need to book in order to have a good representation of the day, and I have no idea what kind of price is reasonable for good quality.

Thanks in advance for any clarification you (or anyone!) can provide... I don't have any friends or family who know more about this than me so I've been getting nowhere with this.
