We are having lunch there next week at DH's insistance!

In the past it has always been a fave but last month on our honeymoon it was a big dissapointment. Hour long wait, very rude hostess who dared get nasty with hubby when he pointed out there were open tables and we had been waiting, said we were party of two she would not seat us at a 4 ppl table. Food was so so. Very small portions I had the chicken it was only a breast of chicken with onions and peppers in a white sauce no rice or anything DH had beef tips in some sauce on two tortillas. We skipped dessert since main course was such a dissapointment, getting our check was another long wait..

I have eaten both lunch and dinner there. I am not impressed. Food is so so and you can't even see what you are eating

Atmosphere is nice and relaxing though...
If you just want to go for an appetizer or two and have a margaritta in the a/c then I would do it but there are much better places to eat in epcot then this restaurant in my opinion

I didn't vote.

We just ate there two weeks ago and I didn't dislike it but I also didn't LOVE it. I thought the ambience was great. Our server was fantastic. The food was only so/so. It was if they're trying to do something super fantastic and get away from the basics, but they don't quite get there. Again, we didn't dislike the food and can't say we'd never eat there again, but I can't rave and tell you it's one of the top notch restaurants in Epcot. Our kids really loved eating there and seeing the boats go by from the ride.

Had lunch there last year. It was OK. Not bad, but also not good enough to make me want to go back. It could have just been that we made bad menu choices. I remember the ceviche (appetizer) did not impress anyone & the dessert (flan?) was a strange experience.

I agree with a lot of others. The food is not the best Mexican you will ever eat, but in my opinion (as well as DH's)...the atmosphere in the restaurant makes up for it. The dim lighting, the boats passing by, the band playing in the background...it's just a really nice place to sit and relax and feel like you are actually in Mexico.

Last year, my DH had his first trip to Disney and loved it there so much that when making our plans for our 09 trip, I asked if there was anywhere from last trip that we HAD to have an ADR for (if he could only pick one)...he picked San Angel Inn over Flying Fish Cafe, Les Chefs de France, Hollywood & Vine, ESPN Club (SHOCKING!).

Good luck - I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

I have never ate there but my BIL and his GF ate there on our last trip and they said they liked it.

We had lunch there a few weeks ago...it was probably the worst meal of our trip. The food was very bland, they had limited kids options and were not willing to substitute anything for the kids (noodles plain instead of noodles with red sauce)...our waitress was very nice when we sat down, but then it went downhill quickly - she took forever to get our drinks - never refilled them - once our meal finally arrived, we never saw her (or anyone else) again. I had to flag down a waitress from a neighboring table to get our check. Then our check took another 10 minutes to settle. No one who worked there was very friendly and the food was tasteless.

We ate here in August and we thought the food was very good. The service was lacking a bit. The restaurant did not seem adequately staffed. There were empty tables with dirty dishes on them that did not get cleaned the entire time we were sitting there.

But I would go back for the food and atmosphere.

We go for the margaritas and the food is secondary. We don't hate it nor do we love it. It's a nice place to meet up for a drink and a OK meal.

We went a couple of years ago and will never go back. The atmosphere is great! The food was just okay, but the chips/hot sauce tasted like Tostitos and Pace.

Our waiter was terrible!! He ignored us and was very rude. We were just a table of 5. And, the tables were so crammed together that is was impossible to walk around in there.

There are many regional styles of Mexican food in Mexico. In past postings many people expect the food to be just like the Americanized Mexican Restaurant in their neighborhood. You might review the menu within this site if you are concerned. The chips and salsa are noteable as non-impressive which aligns to most Mexican restaurants. It also pays to select your entree wisely. Service like most of the non-signature restaurants is sporadic and dependent on the day and server.

The atmoshpere is very nice with tables close together before it became a standard in most Disney restaurants. This is also one of the darker restaurants and by darker I mean very low light....this is often a restaurant where small children fall asleep.

Margaritta's and view are good. I have also always had a good lunch here.

We were extremely disappointed that a supposed authentic eatery they would serve Tostitos chips rather than authentic Mexican chips (I am certain the salsa was out of a jar as well)...the rest of the food was just so-so, not really worth the wait in my opinion...there are much better options at WDW. HOWEVER, on a high-note, the service was excellent!

We have always eaten there in the past just because we enjoy the atmosphere so much but we have never really enjoyed the food, I think we will skip it next time.

We love it!

Great Tortilla Soup and even better Mahi Mahi - although I liked it better when they served it with the chipotle mashed taters rather than the rice!
