My son just got back from visiting Cedar Point and he was disappointed that the new ride, Top Speed (or is it Thrill?) Dragster was not up and running. They were testing it over and over. His group asked if it would be up and running anytime soon and the worker said "I doubt it".

Just wanted to pass this along for anyone that is planning a trip in the immediate future and really looking forward to trying out this craaazzzzy ride.

It is Top Thrill Dragster, and they have no idea when it will be running again. :( I really hope that they get that cable fixed soon or whatever.

Just a FYI: regarding Top Thrill Dragster.

On the Cedar Point website.. www.cedarpoint.com there is a link which says Top Thrill update for the day. It will tell you if the coaster is up and running or not.

I was very lucky to be riding this over Memorial Day weekend!

we missed it about 2 weeks ago when we were there, at least you get to see it running....

awe man.... and i'm going some time this summer to ride it.... ehhh.. better safe then sorry i gues.,,,,

A man from work said he was at frankenmuth 2 weeks ago and met some people from sandusky ohio. He was asking them if they rode top thrill dragster yet & they claimed that a girl had died on the ride. Said something happen with her throat when it took off fast and she choked. I have not been able to find anything about this on the web so figure it must be a rumor.

After hearing this made me think about all the people that chew gum, candy, etc & go on rides. I know it is rare but it could happen.

According to today's Toledo Blade newspaper it is running again--but I'd check, it goes down periodically.
No one has died on this ride! Absolutely not!

Wrong park.

It happened at Six Flags Great America (outside of Chicago, IL) on Raging Bull in May.

The lesson learned here about this tragedy is not to eat or chew anything on a coaster.

My friend said she rode it yesterday. I'm going on the 30th. Hope I get a ride in.:D
