For Those in the So. Cal. area, When Did Your School Year Start?

I'm considering a trip to DL next summer, and mid-August might be an option. I'm wondering when the majority of schools in the Southern California area started their school year. If you live in the area, what week did schools begin this year?

LA Unified typically starts around the 2nd full week of August (August 12th this year).
Colleges a few weeks later though, and most UCs there start in October.

We Started 9/4 this year. We are in Capistrano Unified School District which is a large school district in south orange County. However, they are in the process of modifying our school year and we'll be going back 8/25 next year

Our start date was August 25th. Our LAST school day of 2015 is June 10th.

I am also interested on when kids get OUT. When you answer the post about when you start can you also include when you get out? Was thinking of going May 25th-June 1st timeframe.

San Juan Capistrano started Sept. 4th. They get out June 19th.

USC went back August 25th this year; UCLA doesn't start until October 2nd. (They pushed it back a week this year due to Jewish holidays.)

I realize that you're probably more interested in elementary through secondary schools, but I'm sure students being back in colleges affects crowds too. (I know I'm there less when classes are in session! )

Irvine Unified goes back 8/26/15. We get out 6/8/16.
