For those flying during Spring Break-how much did you pay for airfare?

Are you flying from NE (New England) or NE (Nebraska) ?

New England :)

This morning I happened to look at fares and by some miracle they dropped both ways. By the time I was able to buy them some of the fares sold out :headache:, but I was able to save some money. All in, our costs went down to approx $672 pp RT with EBCI (originally $825 pp). We'll be stuck with some credit to use for a future flight but we'll figure something out.

I booked within 15 minutes of the flights opening. April Vacation in MA is the same week as NH, RI, and CT this year so I knew it was going to be a $$$ mess.

Luckily we actually needed to fly down on the Wednesday before because we are doing the Star Wars RunDisney Race. I had wanted to stay until the end of the following week but I wasn't willing to pay the fare hike. We are going 4/13 (2:30pm - half day of school - nonstop) and returning 4/20 (7:05pm - nonstop) - flying out of Manchester. I paid 250$ including EBCI both ways per person. For every extra day I wanted to spend in Disney after Wednesday, the price went up atleast 100$ a person and it's just not worth that since we are there 3 times this year!

Good luck with the price drops!! Your original fare boggles my mind! I think I would have rented a car and drove for that price!

Our Feb. 20-27 tickets are n/s from BOS and cost $492 pp, highest ever! Our April 25-May 2 tickets are $262 pp. In Feb., we will only fly n/s out of New England because of weather issues, so we have good flights that have doubled since we bought them when they were released. These are our NH school vacation weeks.

Just booked last night. Got great fares for the timing. Wouldn't want to go this week but sons band is playing down there the week after Easter.
$222 round trip on southwest. Just changed our departure location to get this savings. Flying out of Hartfort CT instead of newark or NYC and saved a TON. Down on Easter 3/27 home sat 4/2. Everywhere else was coming up between $350 and $400 a person.

we are flying april 15 coming back april 22nd and booked the minute JB released their flights. I got 4 nonstop flights out of BDL to MCO for 1000.80 and the year before it was 1,3080.00 so we have been flying this same week for years and found booking early the day they release is always the way to go.

We are cruising out of San Juan for Easter and our prices were about $650 r/t. In our party of 5, 3 will fly down SW, the other 2 United and we all fly back American. We also priced going to Disney that week but the prices to San Juan and Orlando were almost the same. We are flying out of Rochester, NY.

I was thinking the same thing when I booked our vacation to Florida. For many reasons, the trip we have planned to Florida will work best for us right now. My mom's mouth dropped open when I told her the prices for our flights. She exclaimed "you could go to Europe for those prices!"

We paid $350pp round trip for our April break (Sat-Sat, non-stop flights). We booked the minute that SWA opened up the schedule. We were looking to add someone to the same flights and they are now almost $1,000 round trip/pp.

I also booked the morning JetBlue opened for April school vacation week. We are flying out of BDL and paid about 1,000. 00 for two to FLL, and couldn't get the nonstop going down. I checked yesterday and saw what the prices are now:crazy:

I booked on SW for March 9-18, BUF-MCO. I booked my flight to MCO the day that fares were released but the return was really expensive. Two weeks later the prices dropped and I booked. So I paid $218/person RT on non stop flights. However, a couple of days ago I added an extra day for only $25 each. I had been watching the fares for the 18th for months(had been around $300 one way) and they just kept going up. I really didn't expect a drop to anything that I was willing to pay but it did and I was lucky enough to grab it. My DD thinks I'm mom of the year now.

We paid $210 round trip each for the beginning of April flying from Long Island on Southwest. Doing the happy dance.

ended up paying 570 rd trip per person from houston to orlando(3/11 - 3/19) - and they were not non stops. Southwest must know when all the spring breaks are in Texas because if you fly just a week later (3/19 - 3/27) you can get a non-stop flight for 341.00 per person

Southwest pricing was crazy for our school vacation week as well. Tried to book the minute they were released and was able to get one of the last nonstop flights. Spending an extra day in Disney. I don't really like flying back on a Sunday with back to work on Monday, but in April I can't imagine the weather being too crazy. With two teachers in the family it is the only time we can really go.

We are also in New England!
