I did an order for B&H today, having it sent here. As an FYI they don't ship to hotels/motels etc... From the web site:

Very happy, I got a Canon Waterproof housing for my p&s for under $200, best I could find it here was $450

Provided they can verify that the hotel etc they're sending it to is secure, Adorama will certainly consider shipping. I know, I've done it!

I am actually thinking of getting a new camera myself, considering the NEX 5 given I am a nube to photography.

I was going to suggest Adorama for hotel deliveries. I have a week to decide if I 'need' a new lens, but I will buy it here and claim the GST at the airport.

My B&H parcel was also left at the front door, in the rain.

I too have been looking for a new camera and the full retail price of the one I want is $250 cheaper in the US than here in Australia i.e.. $350 in the US and $600 here - go figure why the huge price difference

Anyway - I had looked at B&H and they want $100 for FedEx and when I look at a parcel forwarding service like MyUS they quoted me $40 for FedEx.

What do people think? is the parcel forwarding crowd the way to go? or perhaps I just land at MCO and drive to Best Buy on my way to the hotel??

Were you only offered the one type of delivery? On my order I was offered from about $50 to $100 depending on the type selected. I choose UPS 4 - 6 days and tracking shows me 7 September arrival. Coincidentally I have a endless.com order showing up the same day, it will come off the same truck!

I only paid $34 for postage - It was UPS Worldwide Expidited -

My goods were $430, but by buying online and having it posted I saved on sales tax that I would have had to pay instore

Good question - B&H did offer a range - UPS normal was $67 and UPS + was $82.
My concern is that here I am blessed with the world's worst Australia Post parcel delivery man and I have complained so often about him that my last parcel was delivered to the wrong address and after the investigation AP just did this: and said "tough luck". (my paranoia is making me think that the parcel guy now does it deliberately to me!) so that's why for an expensive camera I was contemplating FedEx - cause I go to their office and pick it up myself
