I am especially interested in seeing this show and have already programmed our DVR to record it. We are planning a "biggie" for Summer 2006. This will be the Summer after I retire and the Summer before DW retires - so to celebrate this special event we're planning on taking about a 3 week extended vacation. We're thinking doing a week cruise around the Hawaiian Islands on the new NCL Pride of America, followed by 4-5 nights in an ocean view room at either the Mauni Lani or the Kapalua Bay hotels (using DVC points) and ending up stopping over in LA on the way back and spend some days there and in Santa Barbara. This would be the longest extended period of time we've been away from home in 30 some years. But with me being retired then - who cares .
Thanks for the information on the Travel program. I will definitely watch it.
We traveled to Hawaii this past February and took the NCL Star cruise around the islands. It was fantastik. and then stayed an extra week in Kauai. We had rented a villa in Kauai. Unfortunately, we were not owners of DVC until we took our trip to WDW in June, and were sold on the BCV. We were tempted to buy a Marriott in Kauai but knew we wouldn't be able to make the trip from the East Coast every year, so now we have the best of both worlds. We have DVC yearly, and in a few years, we'll exchange our points and visit Hawaii again.
It is one place that you do not want to miss. Aloha, and have a wonderful time.
WolfpackFan, that sounds like a true dream vacation. What an awesome way to kick off your retirement! I highly recommend the Mauna Lani, having been there last year. It is a fabulous world class resort, and I would go back in a heartbeat.
TnRobin, thanks for posting the info on the program. I'll have to set my VCR so I can relive my stay there.
