Summer is coming up, (I read alot to relax) and although i already have a list of books I want to read, I was just wondering if their are any books out there that i should consider. Any type really...

I am looking for a good one about The Beatles and Mad King Ludwig. :D

Don't know what you're into, but some recent ones I've read and liked:

"Light My Fire" by Ray Manzarek of the Doors

"September 11 - An Oral History" - I'm reading that now, it's really interesting and inspiring

Can't help you on the Beatles or the Mad King but can recommend Triggerfish Twist. At the moment, I don't remember the author, but that book had me howling. And that doesn't usually happen.

Hmm..

I just finished On the Inside by Mindy Lewis.. strong, but powerful book.

At the same time, I read one called Beautiful Child by Torey Hayden.. about a special needs teacher, and her class.

And I also just finished the third Harry Potter.

I'm reading Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt.

Very good book. Would recommend highly.

The Beatles book that came out maybe 2 or 3 years ago was really good--loads of photographs, personal commentary from the Fab 4 and others--enjoyed it immensely. I can't remember the author's name but it's more of a coffee table size book and quite cumbersome. If you are a major Beatles fan, there may not be a great deal of "new" information--but it was still a nice diversion.

I love anything by Maeve Binchey, Dean Koontz (Sole Survivor is my current read--not sure how I missed this one, but it's good), Stephen King, John Saul, and an author I'd not read until recently, Barbara Erskine. I have just finished Midnight is a Lonely Place and before that House of Echoes--wonderful! Sadly our library only has her first novel (Lady of Hay) and the other two mentioned so I'll be requesting from another library I suppose.

I love to read!

I am reading Anne Rice now...I bought all the Vampire books to go through the summer. My favorite though is Dean Kootz and John Saul...and every once in a while Stephen King.

Anything by Mark Lewisohn is good for Beatles Info. But his work is very detailed. It's more like reading an encyclopedia than a biographical work.

Ray Coleman's Lennon is excellent reading as is Barry Miles' Paul McCartney: Many Years From Now. Also recommended is Hunter Davis' The Beatles (which he originally wrote with help from the group). A fun read is The Longest Cocktail Party (if you can find it) by Richard DiLillo (who was the Apple "House Hippie").

I used to always have a book going. And then the internet came along....:(

I have the Harry Potter book on pre-order. I've also discovered an author I really, really like: Dee Henderson. I just bought the set of the O'Malley series.

The only books I have time (or make time) to read are the Left Behind series. Am reading #11-Armagaddeon (sp) now. Anyone else read these?

I have several books that I am either reading or are sitting in a pile waiting to be read. I also have a stack of about 6-7 Newsweeks and another 6-7 Entertainment Weekly's backing up.

Right now I am reading a book called The Patriots. I can't remember the author's name right now. It is the 3rd in a series of historical fiction. It chronicles a family throughout American history and weaves them into actual historical events. This book is focusing on the American Revolution and two twin brothers who are on opposite sides on the conflict. It is really quite interesting.

I also have been reading Vicki Iovine's Girlfriends Guide to the Toddler Years but I am almost done with it.

I have sitting in a pile to read: The Beach House by James Patterson, Armaggedeon (Book #11 in the Left Behind Series), The Partly Cloudy Patriot by Sarah Vowell and a couple more that I can't think of right now. I will also be ordering the new Harry Potter book soon to add to my list.

I just read a great vampire book if you're interested in that kind of thing. I bought it off Amazon and read it in one huge gulp because it was so suspenseful. It's called Blood Worship by Barbara Mack ISBN 1-59113-349-1
Have fun at Disney!

here's another recommendation of lennon by ray coleman. :)

The John Adams biorgraphy that came out a couple of years ago by David McCullough is very good. For light reading, Mouse Tales: A Behind-The-Ears Look at Disneyland by David Koenig is a fun look at the history of Disney Land that I really enjoyed.
