For the Northeastern folks

We had 2 feet of snow the day after Christmas, We had 2 feet of snow a week ago, Tuesday we had 4-5 inches of snow, but then we had a couple inches of rain that froze making 1/2" of ice on top of everything. We had 6 more inches of snow last night. There was at least one other smaller storm before Christmas. And more coming Wed.

I love the snow. But I've had enough.

I love it. In fact, other then todays storm ending right at rush hour (which was not good) this storm was perfect. Just enough (we had about 3-4 inches) to coat the ground again and make things look pretty!!

I am not a huge fan of cold, cold weather, but if it has to be cold, I'd much rather look out and see snow then the yucky brown dead grass.

I'm not a fan of this stuff, either. The bigger problem as far as I'm concerned is if we do get another big storm midweek, there is NOWHERE to put it. The roads and my driveway are quite narrow, and the snow pile on the side of my porch is as high as the steps are. I think I will need a new mailbox once the snow melts, because it looks like it is listing, but for now it is still standing, because it is pretty much buried in snow. And, if dd has more than three more snow days, which seems quite likely at this point, we will have to cancel our family vacation. She cannot miss the last day of school---she's graduating. :)

Yup. I'm not a fan.

Yep, done with this snow!
Hate driving in this weather, but only missed one day of work (12/27) and they paid us for it because NO ONE went in (and b/c it was declared a "state of emergency" in NJ), so haven't used any vaca time yet. I am pretty much planning on using one for Wed though!

I am still loving it! No such thing as too much snow for me. I was commenting today that this seems like the first real winter we've had in years! To me snow is one of the best things about living in the Northeast. It is really beautiful!

Crap, I hadn't heard about the storm for NEXT week! I'm here in western Mass and I am so DONE with winter! I wish the nasty weather stayed in the mid-atlantic like it did last year -

I don't care if there is a ton of snow on the ground-PLEASE don't make me drive in it!!!

You know you've had a lot of snow already when no one even comments on FB about the 8" more that fell this morning. The others have been 12" and 18"+ and more smaller ones. All back to back.

There has been so much snow and so many storms, that I don't even measure it any more. At this point, its talk about how tall the snowbanks and how narrow the roads are.

I am normally an outdoor person even in the winter. However, I've had my fill of snowshoeing already and would really just like to be able to walk on some land.

Last night's news said we have had double the amount of snow that is average for so far this year.

I live in Syracuse. As of this morning we have gotten 106.7 inches this season. We get a lot of lake effect snow. They are calling for another 6-12" tonight.

OMG, I just got an email from a friend of mine in MA and she said MORE is coming for like Tuesday. She said she is hearing almost as much as the Blizzard of '78! :scared1:

DH & I lived all our lives in MA and relocated to southern CA in '08. :sunny:

Believe me, I feel all your pain. Been there, done that. I have shoveled more than my share of snow and fallen on ice more than I can even count. :headache:

Out here, it is amazing weather and the natives do not even realize how amazing it is every single day. :sunny: They will all ask us about SNOW all of the time and how awesome it must be. Umm, naa! :headache:

The snow I can take...it's the -30 degrees temperatures predicted for this weekend that's going to do me in. And to think I postponed my move to FL for this???

Thanks OP. I Hate Snow and keep asking myself why I am here and not in Florida, but hubby's job, family........ I too have lived in NE my whole life, but this winter is one on the worst. I remember the blizzard of 1978. We had so much snow!!! This year is awful. There is so much snow piled up it's hard to see around corners, backing up out of driveways, etc. I have to give a shout out to the snowplow people. I usually complain but this year they have done a great job around my area. My husband and daughter are teachers and they have had off a few days. I feel bad I can't help shovel (I have fibro and shoveling is out of the question). My poor hubby!! Usually my son helps but he's at Sundance (another cold place, at least he's used to the cold!! LOL!!)

Everyone stay warm and dry and remember.....58 days until spring!!!!!

I live in Chicago and am NOT a fan of winter..but man, you guys are getting HAMMERED this season!:scared1:
My sympathies for sure, hang in there stay safe and warm!:goodvibes

I agree, but it was flipping COLD in Chicago today!

yes, yes it was (is) BUT....we had sunshine :cool1: :worship: :sunny: and not snow...and a little peek at the sun yesterday too! I wa beginning to lose it with all the grey days, so I as cold as I was today, I was most appreciative of the sun. Tuesday is supposed to get near 30!:woohoo:
