For the moms out there...

Very large (over 100th percentile) DS moved out of his high chair and into a Tripp Trapp at 28 months. FOr restaurants, he stayed in his high chair until he was well over 3. This was done largely because I don't find it enjoyable when people's children want to run about a restaurant during dinner, so I wanted to ensure DS was trained not to do so before i let him out of the high chair.

As for the changing table, mine was a large, sturdy dresser top one so I used it till he was potty trained. But anything less sturdy like a traditional changing table, would not have been able to support him that long!

Like PP, I also was not aware of any hard and fast bottle and pacifier rules! Actually, I think my dr suggested no paci after 1!

We got rid of the high chair around 15 months old. One day he just hated his high chair and refused to sit in it anymore. So we started the booster chair and that has seemed to work fine. At my MIL's he won't sit in her high chair either.

As for the changing table, I rarely use it, but it is still on his long dresser. I often usethe floor, or the bed or the couch. I would get rid of it, but have no place to put it.

My son is 19 months old. For space issues in our kitchen, we gave our old high chair to the neighbors daughter who is pregnant and due in Sept, and replaced it with a restaraunt highchair (found on highchairs.com). He loves it and will often pull it as best he can over to the table while we cook dinner or do dishes just so he can sit at the table and play or eat.

As far as changing tables go, we never had one. I think they're somewhat of a waste. It was always (and still is) quicker to go grab a daiper and change him on the floor or the couch or even in his crib.

We stopped using the highchair with DS just after coming home from Disney in Oct. So he was 26 months old. He was so proud when we went out that he could/can sit in the big boy chair.
However we have had to say to him, specially when he likes to get out of the booster seat or no seat at all ( sometimes they just dont work and knee's are closer) that if he doesnt sit that we will get the highchair and he will have to sit like a baby.
Weve had to even follow through on it and there were tears but he then sat the rest of the meal in his booster being quite good.
At home we have a little booster that is a travel one that he uses that just lifts him up about 8 inches so he's right at the right level. We packed the highchair away for baby # 2. Soon to be here... :cutie:

I don't even think DS was 18months old before he wouldn't get into the highchair without pitching a fit. He doesn't even like the booster and will usually just stand on the seat.

As for the changing pad, ours is on a dresser so we still use it a lot of the time.

My son was about 2 1/2 when he didn't want a highchair anymore. Right now(he'll be 3 the end of May) he usually just likes to stand/sit in the booth beside me or his father. Sometimes he will use a booster seat but sometimes he just wants to be independent. It comes with the age I guess.

As for changing table....when my son became more mobile, I just changed him wherever he was at the time. It was easier then taking him to another room just to change his diaper.

Thank you all for the wonderful replies! Happy to hear DGS is right on target. He is happy without the highchair when eating out and will use a booster or just a chair/ booth depending on his toddler mood. lol At our house he still uses his highchair but that will probably end soon as well. We realize this is all well and good and just another sign he is growing up. A bit :sad1:but okay.

As for the changing table, he is quite okay with being changed on the couch, floor or bed so we have taken away his changing pad from atop his dresser which leaves room for other things like his pooh bear humidifier for when he needs it, picture frames and stuff animals. :yay: A good thing!

Thanks for the support and advice. I always know just where to come for good advice, support and encouragement.
