Hi all,

We're planning a super last minute trip to DW for next week. As of now, we're are arriving on Sunday (20th) and departing Wednesday (24th), staying on Dis property.

Here are my questions: Is it possible to see MK in one day? Or should we plan 2 days? Are we able to exit and return to same park on same day (dumb question I know, first timer :confused3)? Which day(s) should we visit MK? I planned next Monday but I noticed that this Sunday is the extra magic hours @ MK...should we go or avoid?

Thanks :flower3:

Here are my questions:

1- Is it possible to see MK in one day?

2- Or should we plan 2 days?

3- Are we able to exit and return to same park on same day?

4- Which day(s) should we visit MK?

5- I planned next Monday but I noticed that this Sunday is the extra magic hours @ MK...should we go then or avoid?

1- Not fully.

2- Yes.

3- Yes.

4- Many books have been written on that subject. ;)

5- We love late MK EMH.

google "best days for WDW" and see what comes up. :)
Since your dates are just around the corner, you should be able to see what you need to see.

Get to MK about 45 minutes before opening!! :)

Have a fantastic time!! :)

OOPS!
I see that your thread was asking the experts!!!
I am NOT an expert. :P

Doing MK in one day-not really. You could go to extra magic hours and then spend another day/part of a day there. Extra magic hours are wonderful and towards the end, if you can last that long, the lines are minimal.Do not miss it! Yes you can go in and out of the same park on the same day more than once.

Google crowd calendar for disney and you will find sites that will tell you what parks to go on what days (even for your specific date).

Are there young kids with you? If so then you probably can't do everything in MK. Make a list of what is important to you and go from there.

The parks will get busier each day you get closer to Thanksgiving.

It is possible to see some of the highlights of MK in one day, but for a truly good look, you really need 2 whole days.

Yes, you can re-enter the same park on the same day.

Going or avoiding EMH is a big topic of debate here. Go with whatever you feel like and then you'll know for next time which you prefer.

If I were going on those dates and spending two days in MK, I would visit on the 21 and 22.

thanks for the response....we will consider 2 days @ MK.

I've never been to WDW before, so one visit counts as an expert to me. :thumbsup2 Thanks for your tips. I will be sure to arrive early!

Thanks for the response....seems like MK will be a 2 day adventure.

I have a question about evening EMH @ MK. The park is open until 3 am....has anyone ever stayed that late with small children? We're traveling with a kindergartner.

Thanks, I will search for crowd calendar. Our kids are 5 & 11.

Thanks.....I put "expert" in the title to get everyone's attention. ;)

Great advice! I always have " travel anxiety" the first time....but I usually take "next time" notes so that I can quickly become an "expert"! I'm much calmer after reading your post...thanks! :flower3:

I have seen parents taking their kids on Dumbo at 3 AM, of course most of the time the kid is fast asleep in their arms. From what I heard, a lot of parents go back to the hotel and let the kid take a big nice long nap before going back, so some times that works.

lol @ kids sleeping on Dumbo @ 3am!

We plan on doing the same (long naps)..that's why we decided to stay @ Dis hotel...

I am far from an expert, but I will be there while you are there so I have done some research about the expected crowd levels, etc. The 23rd and 24th are expected to be VERY crowded, so you should probably plan to do the Magic Kingdom on your first couple of days.

In my experience, the single most important thing is to get the parks before they open so you are there when they do. The crowds disperse quickly and you can ride a lot of rides during that first hour or so.

Since we will both be there during a very crowded holiday period, I think a touring plan is very important. You might want to consider picking up a copy of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. I have found it very helpful and there are a number of touring plans in there. That said, being so close to your trip I'm not sure how helpful it would be other than the touring plans.

This forum has been very helpful to me during the 5+ years I have been coming here. You'll find lots of good info (and nice folks) here.
