What do you put everything in? On the boat do you keep your money, keys, etc. in a pocketbook or do people have other suggestions since that seems like it would be too risky if you have to get up and go in the pool.

On the excursions onshore what did some people store their money, keys, passports, etc in? I really don't care for the "fanny packs" so I'm looking for some other cool ideas.

Thanks!

We left all of the keys, passports and extra cash in the room safe. I would carry my camera and put my KTTW card iin the bag.

also, my DH wears a "fanny pack" (or as he calls it a "butt bag" so he usually carries all the crap with him. I do not carry one nor do I usually carry a purse on excursions and the only excursion we took was snorkeling in Nassau so all the stuff was in a beach bag type thing that was left on the catamaran that we went snorkeling with.

While on the ship, at dinner etc...my DH would carry the cards in his pants/shorts pocket, or if I had pockets I would carry my own.

On the ship, the only thing you need is your Key to the World (KTTW) card. They don't take cash, you won't need keys. If you take lots of pictures, you will probably have your camera. Basically, when we went up to the pool, I had my KTTW card in a lanyard with a plastic sleeve, kids club pager, sunscreen, a book, and my soda mug. I did write my name w/ a sharpie on the soda mug. If I went in the pool, I just left everything there by my chair. Never had a problem.

On CC, I took a beach bag, cause I had snorkle stuff and a camera as well.

Now on a public beach, I'd probably get a locker nearby if someone wasn't going to stay on the beach while I swam.

I did take a fancy evening bag for dinner (didn't want that lime green lanyard hanging around my neck on formal night, lol). I put the KTTW, the kids club pager, lipstick and a comb in there.

Hope this answers your questions.

In the gift shop - they sell a lanyard that has a waterproof container on it. The container holds the KTTW card, a credit card or 2, your Picture ID, and a couple of bucks. I loved having this!

We leave everything in the safe and just carry our KTTW card in our holder. For evening I had a very small evening bag I would carry my card in. For excursions I would either take my wallet in a fanny pack or if we were going snorkeling (like at Stingray City) put money, one credit card, and photo id in the waterproof holder. Worked great for us.

They even sell one at the DIS store now!

I have a cute straw handbag (from Nine West I think) that works perfectly as a small, summery tote as well. It worked perfectly for shore excursions.

Many of the stores are starting to get their spring and resort lines in, so you might be able to find something.

Mine was inexpensive and has held up very well :)

I have a "thing" that my husband got at a Microsoft Conference. It is on a cord so you can hang it around your neck, and it is bifold with Velcro, has 2 zip pockets and a clear pocket on the front. Since you always have to have your KTTW card and a picture ID, it is a great little 'thing". That way, I don't have to drag a purse and then fumble through to find that the card and ID are all the way at the bottom (typical). For the rest of the junk, I have a teal green Tigger zip bag that serves as my beach bag. But the "thing" is definitely the way to go!

The "thing" that my4kitties mentions is also available at WalMart. It's in the accessories section, near jewelry.

First I'm no lady...but on the cruise here is what we do.

Everyone has their own lanyard that has the clear plastic credit card sized holder (can hold a couple of cards - kttw and photo id). Everyone is responsible for their own kttw card and then has access to the room without "everyone" having to be there.

Then for swimming/beach we have a "waterproof box" that is like a lanyard you wear around your neck. DCL has 2 sizes of these boxes. One would hold KTTW and photo id's for 4 people (tight fit) and the larger size which appears to be able to hold a pack of cigarettes (don't smoke, can't verify), so it's 2-3 times thicker than the small one. This is the size we have. We put all of our ID's/KTTW in there, some cash and a chap stick. Then we are set for the swimming pool or playing on castaway cay. I wouldn't wear it in the ocean where there are large waves.
