Greetings!
Well, Tuesday night we got a fat letter from the DVC! Woo-Hoo's echoed around Dream Manor (yes, I named our house) as we opened it up. But the woo-hoo's turned to ehhhh's when we realized that the envelope just contained a "we got your stuff" letter and several of the forms we'd Eared and Palmed a week ago. Feh.
But what to our wondering eyes did appear in Wednesday's mail but a deceptively slim letter from (don't jump ahead of me) the DVC! Using our plastic letter opener (which has either the name of a politician or a septic tank service - you'll understand why I might confuse them) we slit open the letter and got the confirmation that our credit was good enough for Walt and we were in - owners at the SSR&S!
So, thanks to my DW's innocent "why don't you look into the DVC" comment, my ability to commit to spending tens of thousands of dollars in the time time it takes other people to decide what to order at Taco Bell, and - of course - you fine and helpful people of the DIS DVC forum, we went from "What's a DVC?" to "Welcome Home" in about one month. Not a record, to be sure, but not too shabby.
In a week we'll be winging down (in a plane, sillies) to WDW - we'll meet Jim McCoy, see the models then head to DTD and see how close we can get to the SSR construction to take some pics - if we see someone else with a camera, we'll know it's Doc.
Then, after we get back, we can prevent that post-Disney letdown by getting all our point plans ready for Dec 1 - SSR Ressie Day!
Take care, all - and thanks for all the help.
Erick
