Seems pretty mundane but, is there any advice on TV's? Our living room TV blew/busted something tonight. All we get is a line across the middle of the screen and, sound. We don't have any free time to go looking for a new one until this weekend so.....What's the scoop on TV's? ;)

We have to get a 27" to fit the entertainment center, btw. So, no BIG SCREEN suggestions, ok? :p

TIA,
Kim

I am a big believer in plain old TV's. I have a 13" Sharp, a 27" Toshiba, 27" Sharp and a 32" Sharp. The 32" was less than the 27".

We have had the small sharp for about 12 years and the 27" for about 8-9 years with no repair and being moved a couple times. I could not be happier with that brand. The Toshiba is also good. In the past I had an RCA that was repaired so many times I lost count. We also had a Mitsubishi that was really good for a lot of years.

That's my experience with our family.

We've used Sanyo (I know, I can hear the snickers already) for 3 years now & they've worked great. Inexpensive and very sturdy tv's!

Oh, also, if all else fails, go flat panel :) you'll worship it if you do!

Consumer Reports Magazine highly recommends the
Toshiba 27A43 27'' TV. We just got one about a month ago.
So far, so good! ;)

SONY TRINITON 27" Flat screen - Have it, love it, would highly recommend it!

Go with Toshiba the 27 flat is a great TV no problems at all with it. I have a 32" SONY vega that has been nothing but trouble We had the tube replaced at 6 months and have had the tuner fixed 3 times since new all under warranty. The tube is going again nice red and blue lines all around the screen so I will never buy another SONY again. We love our 43" Samsung DLP.
