For the CVS shoppers....

How long does it normally take you to check out? The reason I ask, I am NOT a CVS shopper, the ones who buys things for the sake of the extra bucks..I go in, get my TG Lee milk, a sale item or 2, and I'm out. The reason for asking is yesterday, I went in for my milk, and there was a woman at the register buying things to get extra bucks. She had a cart load, and was doing MULTIPLE transactions, scrutinizing her receipt after each one...

I waited at LEAST 5min before someone releized I just had the milk, and let me go in front. I left, was gone about 10min, and had to go back to the store because I dropped my debit card at the store..headache. When I went back in...SHE WAS STILL GOING AT IT! Seriously..she had been at it for a good 25min at this point...

If it takes that long every week..I give you all credit..I could not do it!

No way! I'd be so embarrassed if it took that long!!

There were a few times I've had multiple transactions. I ALWAYS do one and then head to the back of the line again. I would never hold up a line like that. Then, I go to my car and look over the receipts. If there's a problem at all, I go back in and find my favorite employee. She's great!!! She always fixes it for me. But, I wouldn't hold up a line for that.

I think it's rare that I take longer than any other person in line.

And people wonder why the CVS deals aren't as good as they used to be. That is just ridiculous. At my CVS there is only one cashier and if I got stuck behind a woman for 25 minutes while she was stocking up on products she was just going to sell off later for a dollar at a yard sale, I would have been ticked.

Of course CVS is also at fault for allowing multiple transactions to begin with.

Whats worse, in the 5 or so minutes I was standing there, she was ARGUING with the 1 and only cashier...It was a nightmare...of course they only have 1 cashier on duty...and its a brand new CVS to boot

i used to love cvs but lately their deals have stunk...i used to do 2-3 transactions at a time, but every time there is someone behind me i ALWAYS let them go after each transaction

If I knew I was going to do 2 or 3 transactions....I went to CVS at 4am. Seriously...I couldn't not hold up a line like that...>I would be pissed at myself.

Ugh! We don't have a CVS, but I do Walgreens. I do usually do 2 transactions, but I always try to go to the cosmetic counter. If there is no one there and I have to get in the regular line, I let people go in front of me. BUT, I have found myself apologizing to the people behind me before. Last week I went to pick up my daughter and her friend. We stopped at Wags, because I had been wanting to get a Listerine deal they had. Well, 1st transaction my RR's didn't print. come to find out the Catalina machine didn't have any paper. So the cashier had to void the transaction, re-ring everything. . .just to find out the Catalina machine was also out of ink! Voided again. . .then wouldn't take my Q's for the second transaction. Ugh! I felt bad for the other people, but it really shouldn't have been that hard! And it certainly isn't my job to make sure there is paper and ink in the Catalina machine. I ended up having him void the second transaction and going to a different Wags. . .I needed the Listerine. My regular Wags rang me up without a hitch in probably less than a minute.

It sounds like the lady in front of you was just being rude, but sometimes it just goes south really quickly when it should be easy and straightforward.

I have never tried to do multiple transactions - didn't even think that was possible. I just come back.

I do multiple transaction, but only if no one is waiting behind me.

Occasionally I will do two transaction if they are quick and I always have my coupons and everything in order before I get to the register.

From what I understand, I think people do one deal in the first transaction, then that generates extra care bucks at the bottom of the receipt, which the customer tears off and uses on the second transaction (rolling them over).

The other thing is that many of the hardcore CVSers have more than one card. They have a second card for their spouse, or their mom, etc. So if something is a limit of one per card, they do a second transaction on the other card.

I have seen people post on the cvs threads that they do two transactions, but I don't think all of them do the transactions one after the other. I was thinking it was two separate trips.

My local CVS is great, very well run. If this happened in my CVS they would open another register right away.

I only do one transaction but I never buy just to get ECBs and then sell the stuff. I buy what we can use in a reasonable time. I did like the flu shot deal. I paid $27 with my coupons for paper towels, toilet paper and toothpaste and got a free flu shot. The cheapest I could find the flu shot was $25 so I got all that stuff for $2. That was a good deal. Plus after getting the shot I got a 10% off total purchase up to $100 that was good until 10/31/10.

This is the only time I do two transactions. If I don't have enough ECBs from previous weeks I'll buy a few things to earn more, rip them off my receipt and spend them on the rest of the things I need. But, I always to two separate "trips."

Yeah. I'm a rule follower, so I have one card in my house. I do each deal once. But, there are some who shop for their parents or other relatives, which I believe is okay.

I buy the stuff that is free (or moneymakers) after ECBs even if I don't need them. Then, at Christmas time, I donate a TON of things. I give away enough shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc to my relatives to last the year. I use any overage to buy things I need. I haven't paid for any toiletries, makeup, dishwashing detergent, stocking stuffers, etc, etc, etc for two years. I take all the savings from the stuff I would've bought anyway and stick it in my "vacation" fund.

I've only been to CVS a few times, I'm by no means a die-hard CVSer. But if I had that many transactions to do I would either let others go ahead of me or I would make sure I went when it was dead in there.....I'd probably do more trips actually. I'm planning on going this week for the BOGO Sobe deal, BOGO coupons at once....our CVS only has 1 cashier most days.

Unless there is absolutely no one else in the store (I do sometimes run up at 11PM or later) I won't do more than one transaction at a time. I go thru the line, take my stuff out to the car, then go back in the store and do my second transaction and sometimes a third or fourth transaction. But I always leave the store in between. In part because if I tried to run multiple transactions at once I would get confused. Especially since I have two cards and I have to remember which deals I'm doing on which card.

Though I will admit that every so often if oldest DS goes with me I will have him stand in line in front of me to run a second transaction it's usually something quick (and absolutely it has to be easy) and whatever it is he wanted at the store.

I am not talking cards but deals. The CVS paper says one deal per household so a person doing 2 or more with 2 or more cards at the same time would be a direct violation. It would be nearly impossible to prevent a person from going from store to store to do multiple transactions.

I used to be obsessed with doing the deals at CVS and Walgreens, but it got to the point where it just became too much and I ended up with so much crap I didn't need...I mean how many bottles of eye drops do I need??? I don't have time to do yard sales to sell this crap either. And a lot of the stuff isn't free when you add in sales tax not to mention your time and sanity LOL. Now I'll only do the deals if it's something I will actually need within the next month.

But if you use your husbands card, you are not the person that the card is issued to. I can't believe CVS allows this. If feels dishonest to me to pretend to be someone else to get double the allowable free stuff.
