For sale and rent

I want to make sure that I'm not putting anyone at risk. My DVC points are currently posted for sale. If someone should be willing to pay my full price and close before the date that I've made reservations for a guest, what would happen to that reservation? Could I include in the contract that banked points from 2008 that are already included in a reservation aren't included? I understand if they bought in January, they'd want the 2009 points for a trip, but can I safely rent while on the market or should I pull it from the listing? Thanks.

Once your points sell, all reservations are CANCELED. You might want to contact your renter now and refund their money - or not list the points until after their trip is completed.

DVC will not allow you to keep any reservations & work out a deal with the new buyer.

In order to be up front and honest with your sales ad you'd have to list it so it shows what points the buyer would be receiving and a statement that the sale cannot close until xx/xx/xx date. If the reservation is way out in the future you'd be better off not listing it for sale until about a month or two before the reservation.

That's what I was afraid of. I doubt I'll have time to visit in the next couple of years, which is why I was going to sell. I lost all my 2007 points this past year. Expensive not knowing you can rent.... Thanks for the input.

When I made a resale purchase the original owner had a pending reservation and requested that I keep the reservation for them which I did. The resale agen had done a 3 way call w/ DVC Member services and arranged it
