For Rent or Transfer; 44 Riviera Points $20pp & 124 Grand Floridian Points $19pp

We have 44 Riviera points from 2024 December UY and 124 Grand Floridian points from December 2024 UY.

Riviera was a direct purchase while Grand Floridian was a resale acquisition.

Both have a December UY. Our Grand Floridian cannot be used at Riviera while our Riviera points can be used at Grand Floridian following the 7 month and 11 month rules. Our dues are current. Our banking deadline is July 31st 2025.

From our Riviera, we have 44 points available. A minimum of 40 points per reservation. IF a particular reservation requires extra points, there are an additional 76 points available to complete the reservation. I was holding them back in case we needed them but it is looking like we won't.

Grand Floridian has 124 points available though that too be increased by a little to fit a reservation requiring a few extra points.

Price per point for Grand Floridian $19
Price per point for Riviera $20

Prices are the same for a reservation or transfer to another DVC member. All reservations will receive confirmation at the time of the reservation and at any point afterward when the renter requests it.

Any reservations 30 days or less will require full payment. Any reservations for 30+ days will need to be paid in full by the time it reaches the 31st day due to the policy of placing points in holding if a reservation is cancelled between 1 and 30 days. Any reservation with a date past our banking date needs to be fully paid for by 7/30/2025.

Reservations require the names of all guests, ages of those under 18, an email address and a phone number.

It is below our threshold of 40 which is more of a deal breaker than the UY. Because it is a reservation past our banking date, it would have had to have been fully prepaid and be non refundable. Any cancelations that late would almost certainly render the points useless. I know from experience.

Thanks! Yes, we are just interested in 1 night. We'll be staying Sun-Fri on our own points. Using our resale points for this trip, so was interested in a studio for 1 night at RIV since we've never stayed there. I understand it's below your threshold of 40 points though!

Have you considered a point transfer? Then you'd have control of the points to book with as you see fit.
The 24 points would be $480, paid before we call DVC.

I am open to that! Would you be ok with that since it'd only leave you with about 20 RIV points after the transfer?

I am. I have points I was holding back for a future trip but some scheduling conflicts have arisen that mean we will need to either cancel those plans or need to be more flexible than DVC allows us to be, ergo we will use our Hilton GV timeshare. It's just one DVC stay that is affected and hopefully, it stays that way. It would release 76 points back to the account which we'd either bank or rent.

Oh, I wasn’t aware. Does it matter if we have multiple contracts? Or is it just UY based?
