for planning...I LOVE DLR!!!

Being a WDW vet, needing 6 months to plan a trip was a habit. If not, all you would eat is counter service.

Welllll...for this upcoming November DLR trip, I have just booked 4 restaurants at the exact time I want. Maybe they're not the hottest (Yamabuki, Cafe orleans, Ariel's grotto, Tortilla Joe's) but still. 3 weeks out at WDW and you get 10pm dining reservations for 3rd rate restaurants.

So, DLR, I love you!

I love Disneyland resort too! I've never been to Disney World, so I had no idea you had to plan your meals so far in advance!

Not only that but I love that you can just relax at DL. You don't have to race around park hopping, the vastness of the park (with fewer rides per park), and like you mentioned the reservations at restaurants.

Our one trip to WDW was fun but challenging to plan, not so much the park but the food. I remember having to call disney to book 4 dinners months in advance a special breakfast or lunch too, not to mention the fantasmic/dinner combo etc. Maybe im doing it all wrong i loved most of the experiences dining at WDW, but most seemed like buffets with prime rib.....except for Ohana's i loved that dinner but now they took the shrimp off as an option.. small tears, but for my DL trip in January im kinda just winging it, other than one meal at Cafe Orleans the discussion board seems to favor corn dogs so planning DL meals has been so much easier, seems like i can just go enjoy the parks and when i get hungry go anywhere but Burger Haus

I love Disneyland too. We really enjoy Cafe Orleans and Yamabuki. Yum!

FWIW, for DLR vets dining is just not a big deal. Probably because so many (70%) are SoCal locals on day trips. So that does make getting reservations much easier at DLR.

On my first trip to WDW I found it strange how much emphasis was put on dining and ADR's. Now I have a greater appreciation for how dining plays into a Disney trip.
