Hi!!

We have stayed concierge at the Poly before, but not since they did over the Hawaii building. We were there staying in Tahiti (where they relocated concierge) last year when they were working on the Hawaii building and it looked like they were doing a lot of work. I would very much like to hear from someone who has stayed there recently as to how the renovations are. My biggest question and concern is a non-smoking room. I have severe migraines from smoke and my hubby is a recent cancer patient who cannot be around smoke. I know that in the past the third floor was smoking. Is it still? Also I heard that they are no longer giving out small bottles of water. Is this true? We go shopping anyway so I would just pick up some if we need it. Sorry this is so long, but I really want this trip to be as perfect as possible for my husband who has been through HE** this past six months. Also it is our Thirty Anniversary and I really really want this trip to be special for my whole family.

Thanks so much!!!

While I haven't stayed at Polynesian since the renovations, we are frequent flyers, so to speak.

The third floor is still partially smoking optional. The east end of the floor (farthest from the lounge) is smoking optional. The west end is nonsmoking BUT can be used for overflow smoking if necessary. Bottom line is that if you do not want smoke smell or possibility--stay 2nd and 1st.

Bottled water (individual servings) is no longer offered at the lounge. They have glass bottles that you are able to take to your room and are out all day for lounge guests.

This information was provided to me by the CL staff and I trust its accuracy.

Best wishes for a wonderful trip and congrats on 30 years! My husband and I are approaching 25--where does the time go? :earseek:

Congratulations on your 30th! We just celebrated our 25th in January.

We've been in Hawaii twicw since it reopened...November and March....and can confirm what Tess said about water.

We always request non smoking as I have rather severe asmtha. We've always received it. When I make my reservation, I mention it. Usually, the CM notes non smoking for medical reasons but sometimes it's just noted as a request. I suppose I cold push it but never have because it's never been a problem.

If it's not already on your reservation, I would call back and add it. I would also make sure to list it on your questionnaire from Island Planning.

I hope you have a perfectly magical trip!

Thanks so much Tess and BVC23. This info is helpful. It looks like they didn't do any "new" movement of smoking and non-smoking rooms after the renovation. We've stayed on the second floor and never have had a problem with smoke, so this looks like it should be ok again for this trip. Thanks for the congrats. It seems like we just celebrated our 25th too, congrats to both of you!! Time certainly does fly!! We will be sure to buy bottled water when we go shopping on our first day. I like to take it to the parks with us.

Thanks again!

Mim
