from Swan at $147 per night to Shades of Green for $93 per night (8 nights). That is a lot of money to save! Plus the staff at SoG told me that all the rooms are being redone with new wallpaper, beds, etc.

I just(yesterday) got SOG for March for $101. We have never wanted to stay there, but will keep this for now since the place will be new and the price/location can't be beat for that time of the year. We "may" change to an overflow rate at a WDW resort depending on what I hear of SOG , but I am content to have this for now. :D We did love the CR last month, but I think SOG rooms are even bigger. Glad you locked yours in too!

We've stayed at SoG before - I didn't care for the Contemporary - I thought the rooms were old and ugly. The SoG is beautiful but after staying at the Swan once, I liked taking the boat to Epcot and MGM. The only one thing I didn't like about SoG is that to go to MK or Epcot, they drop you off at TTC and you have to take another form of transportation to keep going. I like just having to take one bus or whatever to get to each park!

We usually drive to MK anyway, unless staying at WL or a monorail resort. We will probably drive everywhere when we stay at AKL in Nov.:D We went in SOG to get tickets in the past, but never wanted to stay there(DH did not want to vacation with the military-in reserves now, so it is not as important to get away from "them"). Anyway, unless they have good FL or AP rates in March, we will keep this.:D Don't think I will even look into overflow that trip. Who knows though, I am a female who can change her mind;) .
Do you know if you can request an area upon arrival?

I can't remember what I requested one year (it may have been a room away from the lobby and a corner room) and the room was too far away from the lobby/bus stop for me! For March 2004, I requested a room near the lobby. I remember it being very reasonable to eat their breakfast buffet but the other meals were not very good.

So can I send in my requests with my info on the e-mail(that is how I booked-forget holding on the phone forever:smooth: ) ?
We want to be top floor and away from noise! NOT near the lobby;) !
Glad to hear all the rooms are being redone Jodi, I never really read the SOG resort threads before the expansion! :D We really loved the CR though-even loved the room decor-so Disneyish-I fear I will miss that at SOG:( .
