I don't know why I am posting this here, but I just need to say some things to our friends in Florida (and those in Ga. who have taken a hit as well).
I know you Floridians took the heaviest hit from this storm. Please know that you are in my prayers. While at Sam's Club just south of Atlanta on Monday, I saw a couple from FL filling up their vehicle for the return home. The whole time the husband was pumping gas, he was holding and consoling his wife. I can't imagine being hundreds of miles away from home, and not knowing what you will be returning to when you get home. I shed some tears and prayerd for that family, and all the others I saw on the highway headed back home.
This morning, I get a call from a friend of mine here in GA whose mother had a tree in the middle of her house from the remnants of Frances, and I know there are many others just like them.
I can sympathize with what you have gone through. Although never going through a hurricane, I have been through one tornado and one flood here in GA. We were spared, but I also saw the sense of community for those around us whose homes were destroyed.
My prayers and thoughts are with you, and I challenge all who view this message to do what you can do to help these families out. If you are in the area and can lend a hand, that is great. If you aren't, consider donations to the Red Cross. Although it wasn't my house at the time, I have spent nights in Red Cross shelters and they helped my family out after the acts of nature we had to deal with previously.
God Bless You All!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11
