Since I've been unemployed I have been doing a lot of outside work and it is catching up with me. My right elbow and right knee are cranky just about everyday. It stinks getting old.

I am an older Diser and I am also laid off. But, I decided that sitting around the house and feeling sorry for myself wasn't going to cut it.

So I joined the gym -- Planet Fitness -- $10 a month. I figured I could afford $10. In the few weeks since I have been doing it, I am doing better emotionally and have already lost a little weight.

It was so hard going back a gym after 4 years of no exercise -- and yes, I hurt from the exercise, but I think it will be worth it in the long run.

I'm older than dirt!! They did a bone scan a month ago and i have rheumatoid arthitis in all joints and spine and in my ribs. At least now I know why the spasms when I laugh, but laughter is the best medicine. :rotfl:

Joints, lower back. A pain pill a few times a week brings much relief.:)

How old is "older"? ;) I'm in my mid-thirties, but my shoulders and knees are both heading downhill in a big hurry, primarily due to years and years and years of competitive swimming. Yes, they always tout the benefits of this non-impact sport, but it plays holy hell with the cartilage in your shoulders. I have none left in my right shoulder and only a tiny bit left in my left; my doctor told me when I was 16 that I had the shoulders of a 50-year-old woman and that if I kept swimming at that level, I'd have to have at least one of them replaced by the time I was 40. It's lookin' like that might come true. Grr.

What's the day and the hour? It changes from minute to minute. Lately, my finger joints have been acting up. Not good for a person who likes to type.

You all realize if we start this, we might not ever shut up right? And we'll sound like our grandparents.

But umm, yeah, I'm hurting right now. But nothing that hasn't occurred every month for most of my life.

I have a bad back, but it feels a lot better now that it's warmer out. :thumbsup2 Still hurts though.

I was actually doing fine up til a few weeks ago. Then my neck went out. Then my back. Then my knee.

And now my joints ache so bad I really hate going to the gym because it just makes me feel sick! I still go, but I'm babying myself.

And I don't know what's up with my neck, but I wake up in the middle of the night with it hurting so bad. I feel like I'll break it if I try to roll over! I have to put my hand on the back of my head just to support it to roll over.

:scared1:

Motrin is my friend.

I'm 16, and I have my knee replaced. Old, but not that old. My knee bothers me pretty much everyday, especially on rainy days like today.
From being on chemo for 10 months, my body is still VERY achy. I have these really bad muscles right where both shoulder blades end on my back that bother me badly. If I sit up for too long, lay down for too long, or sleep the wrong way - it's hell.

I just can't win. Whoever invented pain killers and pain relievers is a SAINT.

PS - I've already been in a wheelchair AND a scooter - I couldn't walk for 8 or so months after my knee replacement. Does that buy me into the old category. ;) :lmao:

Yeah, I think I could uses a swig of Granny's rhumatiz medicine about now...;)

Hmmmmm. . .at the moment it's the back and the finger joints achin'. Granny's "roomatiz" medicine WOULD be nice to knock the edge off a little.

(Of course, we could just holler for Grumpy Pirate--he's always got a little "medicinal" rum hidden somewhere. . .)

Are you kidding me...I've got to the place were every bone in my body aches for no reason what-so-ever, I creek everytime I move, I seriously don't know what's going on, I really need to see a doctor..:scared:

Uggg, my knees hurt. First it was my right knee, now my left, also. I sleep with a pillow under my knees for some relief.

Karen :)
